Is the Southern accent going extinct? I see a lot of gen Z people in the south through social media that don't have the accent

Went to a local bagel spot this morning that opened up recently and as I’m sitting and eating the owner walks by and asks if I want anything else. At first I say nah I’m good then he offers me another bagel + coffee free on the house. Can’t say no to that

Always cool when owners go out of their way like that so I left them a great review too
