the thread about nothing...

That literally makes no sense. He can still love who he is.

This lol. Made zero sense at all.

I think there was a misunderstanding.

iyen wasn't saying the dude can't love himself, it's just the way it was phrased made it look like there was a choice of what race/nationality he could be.

correct me if i'm wrong.

he did ask 'why' and not 'how'

it sounded more inquisitive than quizzical, but i digress.

I didnt choose my family

I cant love them?
I'll clean my initial question up.

Why does someone have pride in something that he/she did not choose?

If he really likes being mexican, okay I understand that, but pride?

I'm not following.
You didn't choose your parents, how could you love them?

iYen asks weird questions... like he's an alien and wants to know more about human beings.

1. Become proficient in every martial art known to man.

2. Create a costume/name for yourself

3. Find out who has warrants out for their arrests

4. Capture said people

5. Leave them outside of a police station and leave your paypal info/bank info so they can send you money.

6. optional:sidekick who complains about your aggressive and sometimes unorthodox methods of getting .... done

Why is this a big deal? Lots of nationalities take great pride in their heritage.

You just look like you're analyzing this way too much.

Asking a question doesn't automatically make something a big deal.

I understand.

Okay then, I'm analyzing this way too much.T

I agree with that.

Pride?

It's puzzling for one to have self-respect and feel good about the racial background they come from?

Because there's nothing prideful about the unique and cultural influences that it can bring?

It makes no sense for one (who does not choose what they are) to learn and appreciate the lineage of which they  come from and continue to carry?
