I work in Arlington/Crystal City/Tysons Corner and stay in Northern VA currently, so it's tought to get a consistent schedule where I can make all the games during the week. And the commuting is the issue most of the time.
I slug/carpool into Crystal City and that is my ride back, as much as I love playing sports they are not worth sitting 3 hours in traffic each day and blowing my brains out.
When I worked at DLA in Richmond we had Sports Leagues on site at the installation. The Basketball league was dope and competitve, a lot of college players from Union, VCU and State played in it.
My squad was mainly dudes in their 40's/50's and there were many games where we had to go ironman and play all 5 the entire 40 minutes with no subs. Great way to stay in shape and it was fun.

Im out here in NOVA too what flagfootball/basketball league you guys playing in?

A coworker of mine sent me an invite for a DC/Arlington Sports League for the Flagfootball.


I usually play basketball at one of the Sport & Healths Mon-Thurs 7pm - 11pm or at Quantico from time to time. Might sign up for the DC Bball league at the Ritz Carlton, but it's out of the way from work.

if you work in Crystal City, that's 2 metro stops away from the Pentagon. The Pentagon Athletic Center is huge. Track, weights, pool, basketball courts. I'm not sure if they have basketball leagues down there but they might. I just picked up an application for the gym. I know you're a government employee so it might be worth looking into seeing if you could get a membership at the gym. I'm not sure if you have to be assigned to work at the Pentagon or not though.

Yeah I walk over to the Pentagon all the time when I work in Crystal City or take the shuttle. A friend of mine who works for Northrop hoops there and said its huge. I am supposed to go back to the Polk Building in Crystal City in a few weeks to work.

I try to leave a gym bag of stuff there so I can play work out if I have a ride back home.


Pentagon is like a huge bullseye though.....I try to get in and get out, no half steppin' in that place.
