Why did Avon disappear in the 4th season

He's in jail. Gone for a long while. Didn't know you were asian. Now I know. I was guessing for a min tho lol.

It was sometime at the end of season 3 where he got raided at the warehouse or wherever he was staying. I think this was after Stringer got murked. He was gonna roll out on Marlow like the goon he is and McNulty n' them came in and arrested him a second time. I think he was gone for a long while if not life at that point. That's why he was nowhere to be found in subsequent seasons.

String snitched on him to Bunny Colvin.
