Opinions appreciated.
So I live in an on-campus apartment with one roommate, we're pretty cool, and we had a new roommate move in this week. So last night, the three of us are just chilling and talking and the subjects moves to girls. I was talking about some cute girl in my class and my roommate (not the new one) looks at me and says "Man, he's only in love with one girl who he never worked up the nerve to talk to," the new roommate asked who it was and I was like "it's no one," but my other roommate just yells out this girl's name, who I was trying to get at for the longest but waited too long and another dude got her. I wasn't in love with her, but I did like her until we had a falling out, so I don't talk to her or like bringing her up. Either way, I just got heated because, in my opinion, he threw my business out there to some dude we barely know. He says he was just joking and I was acting feminine about it and he jokes like that with his other friends all the time because it's just "locker room" talk.
My question is do you guys think I overreacted by getting mad or was it justified?
My whole point was he should've let me bring her up first since it's my business. It's not like I mind if my friends make fun of me about my past dealings with girls, but I just don't like them talking about it in front people who aren't my friends unless I bring it up first. I even told him a while back not to bring it up the same girl in front of other people, but he "swears" he doesn't remember me saying that.
Cliffs:
- Live on-campus with a roommate.
- New roommate moves in.
- Three of us are talking about girls.
- Old roommate says to new roommate (about me) "he's only in love with one girl who he never worked up the nerve to talk to," then says her name.
- I get mad because he threw my business out there without letting me bring up said girl first.
- He says he was joking, it was locker room talk, him and his friends do it all the time, and I'm acting feminine.
- Was my anger justified?
- Thanks in advance for opinions
