Her period had just ended. Overreacting for sure though. I burnt dinner I was making for her and left the dishes to chill for a minute cuz I was upset and she came home at the same time she had a letter saying they were coming in to appraise her apt the next day. She flipped that the apt wasnt clean and I made the "I'm not gonna marry your mom" comment.

As a man, you have to understand the situation. Not blaming her period on everything, but some things you just blow off, like "oh, she buggin right now" and let it go. Being able to quickly assess irrational and highly emotional mood swings and dismissing them when they seem grossly out of context in a relationship is an invaluable skill in a relationship. Thing is, you don't recognize it. It just hits you, and you're like "wtf just happened? Where did that come from?" and instead of thinking it through, you react in defense of what happened.

I experienced it at a young age. It started with my mom. It wouldn't happen often but there were times where she would freak out and overreact to things she wouldn't otherwise freak out to. I would do my chores but there would be some bs she would blow up about and as a kid, I'm like "what did I do?". It took me to get older and realize that's a side effect of having a period. Would they tell you how they're feeling that day? Hell no. It's up to you to figure it out. Had a some missteps and when I got in my mid-late teens started arguing back, but not in a disrespectful way though. At times it had me stressed because I was still confused at 17 years old. Wasn't until in my early 20's dealing with it like "oh, that's how she's feeling today?" I wouldn't say anything and give her her space. Now with my gf, I can sense it, I don't go near her, no unnecessary arguments. Done deal. I tell her we can talk later or something to avoid a stupid argument.
