Surgeon insisted on surgery within less than a month judging by the hemorrhage. He's calling me next week after wednesday to schedule a date (he's out of the country for a congress as of tomorrow). My internship starts on the 14th though so I'm gonna have to cancel it and reschedule it somehow.
Should be a ~4 day hospital stay and 4 to 6 weeks of additional recovery.
