you wouldnt be able to plug this into your pc like a regular external hard drive.
you'll need to connect it via an ethernet cable to your router & set it up in order to transfer files to it & transferring files might be slower.
it's basically good for streaming movies, music, etc from, not so much plug and play transferring like a regular external.
