95% of your fav. rappers listen to more than one genre.

Not always, but from my experiences 99.9999999% of the time someone says "I only listen to one kind of music".... they're talking about rap.

"Im rich"..."you broke"...."I ****** your girl"... "I smoked your homie" .... "Yall ****** aint ****".... "get like me"...
Most contemporary rap emphasizes these or similar sentiments.
IMO music is supposed to be an escape from problems...Contemporary rap takes the common mans problems and rubs them in. I would bode to say the subliminal effect of being talked down to on a constant basis by celebrity's you admire has long term negative side effects on the psyche.

I primarily listen to hip hop, but in recent years overall, the quality has declined. So, I moved on to other stuff. Not that I was never exposed to any other type of music and interested in it since a kid, I just expanded on that. Not disappointed. Rap music doesn't age well in comparison to other genres unfortunately.
