A few subs are okay, but the amount of hate, racism, sexism, classism, eugenics, rape apologists,pseudo-intellectualists,etc present on reddit day to day is enough to make me stay away-- at least from the more popular subs, like /pics, /funny, /worldnews, etc. If you like reddit okay, cool. But go into any post about black people and look at some of the upvoted comments and tell me more about how reddit is such a great place.

I literally just googled nice people reddit, and I just found a reddit for people who hate what you just described.

But I bet you still browse those sites, since you ignore it.

I've been a reddit user for three years. It sounds like you just joined reddit this week and think it's the best thing ever (since we're all jumping to conclusions here). I know there are different subs that go against the main population of reddit because I am subbed to those and unsubscribed to the main default subs which is the only way to filter through the crap.
So, I know how to use reddit, thanks.
Um, no I don't? Who reads Yahoo? :x And what I look like reading and replying to Youtube comments? :x

Lots of people read Yahoo. Their stories are usually made into threads on here.
Not to mention when people pin point certain comments from their comment sections or from Twitter comments.

I think that this is a classic case of taking the good with the bad.
The good which for me is learning about random interesting events, your fav. celebs having amas, etc.
The bad is basically anything that annoys me.
In my case, the good far outweighs the bad.
In your case, the bad outweighs the good.
I'd suggest purchasing tougher jimmies or looking for more of the good stuff on reddit.
It's like Sturgeon's law, "99% of everything is crap."
If you're able to find that 10%, your jimmies will remain unrustled.

I dunno.... I liked her first look.
I dont dig shows like this because they pretty much tell people that unique and different styles are not OK. Its basically saying that individual style is not acceptable and you should place a higher value on other peoples comfort zones than your own. From that snippet she seems like a rather timid girl and what they've effectively done is take a sheep out of wolfs clothing and dress her like a sheep. Now she has to watch out for all the wolfs that she'll attract who only want to "snog", when before she would likely attract people with a similar interests. If shes into punk music and the punk lifestyle, its unlikely that this new generic style of dress is going to attract a proper mate. Clothes wont change a persons personality, interests, hobbies or anything about that person except how people who don't even know them feel around them.

Yeah... I hear you, but thats true for anywhere. Real life is full of racists and bigots, but the internet gives people a place to voice opinions they wouldn't in public. Dont think NT is above the BS either. NT is full of bigots and racists, but we're heavily moderated so their comments are deleted.
Exactly.
The only reason there is less of that stuff on NT is because we ban users for those kind of comments. Sometimes I think thats good, and other times I think it breeds over-sensitivity because people cant discern a legitimate criticism from a troll comment intended to offend without breaking the ROC.
