That's not at all what I said. You alluded to Martin Lawrence being the reason the Nutty Professor was made. I said Plenty of people have played multiple roles in movies long before that, most notably Mel Brooks.

Additionally Eddie didn't "make" the Nutty professor, he was just the star. On the other hand Mel Brooks Wrote and Directed all of his movies. Mel Brooks is widely accepted as the godfather of comedy. His influence is expands into so many facets of what people find funny today and he helped reshape the movie industry and their formulas for funny. He is one of only 12 people ever in history to got EGOT. To deny his influence is not a matter of opinion, it's flat out wrong.
