Had my appointment with the endocrinologist today about the test results.
Got to see my test values for those 2 deviating hormones compared to normal values. Idk the exact measurements they used so I'll just use the numbers.
Good base testosterone values in a normal male of my age (22) would be around 700-800 according to the endocrinologist.
Mine are hovering around 200.
They want to hold off on testosterone injections until they figure out more about what's causing it but the doctor did say that with such low values it's a likely possibility.
My cortisol was even worse compared to normal values. I have to take 10mg of hydrocortison daily now. Got a whole schedule about special guidelines for using it. If I get sick with a fever or diarrhea I have to take 3 of those tablets a day for the entire duration of the sickness. And in very stressful situations (accidents, ...) I apparently I need to go get a hydrocortison injection at the hospital asap.
The doctor said that a normal base cortisol value is around 10.
My base values were 1,2 and 1,8 the times they were tested. The insulin tolerance test, which should have stimulated loads of cortisol in a normal person only bumped up my total to a measly 3
I've always had a pretty large brain cyst in the back of my head as I was born with it but the endocrinologist took another look at my previous brain scans and thinks there might be a second cyst around the pituitary gland, which might be messing with its functioning. That would explain the hormone deficiencies. Getting another brain scan on December 8th to look for any abnormalities around the pituitary gland.
Also got a referral to a geneticist on January 27th to look for genetic defects and mutations in my DNA.
One of the few specialists I've yet to get an appointment with along with a nephrologist. By now I've had at least 1 appointment with almost every specialization there is
