I mean i take clothes i dont wear anymore down to this shelter every yr. Its dope feeling when a lot of those guys recognize u after a while but sad at the same time cuz its the same faces out there. Honestly i dont trust people or organizations enough to give or donate my money because at the end of the day i dunno where it really ends up and if it's really going to someone that needs it. If u hungry ill buy u food.
My fam lived in homeless shelters for a while when they first moved to canada. After a while my pops got a job and housing. He told me he went back after a few paychecks and gave $100 to the shelter they stayed at. Other than that i cant name one instance anyone in my fam gives money like that. Food, clothes, hygiene products etc for sure.

i give food if i have a leftover meal from lunch. or i offer to buy them a meal or something.
i don't want my money spent on alcohol or drugs, so i don't give money.

I agree on the last part and ya a large majority of those living in the street have drug/alcohol problem but not all are addicts.

when you buy them food, do you ask them what they want? what if they order an expensive meal or a lot?

Naw i just get whatever fastfood in on the block (mcds, slice of pizza etc). Only a few times have i had someone complain about what i bought and it was obvious they didnt want food they just wanted money. More times they r appreciative. I dunno ive gotten pretty good at telling the difference between those that genuinely r hungry and those that r tryna run a boops.
Funny story, i managed to hustle this homeless dude $50 from this dickhead bouncer. I was downtown and i was sitting on this bench with my homeboy infront this lounge/nightclub. These 2 homeless guys were sitting on the sidewalk with a shopping cart and a pile of cinder blocks on the sidewalk. 1 of em tells the other one hell be right back, no doubt going to score dope. So the bouncer comes to the other whos some frail lookin dude and starts acting like a tough guy telling him move all this ****. The guy tells the bouncer its his boys stuff and he cant touch it. So the bouncer tells him hell give him 20 to move it and dude starts moving it. Soon as the bouncer walks away i tell the homeless guy ill give him 40 if he leaves all the **** there. I show him thr cash and hes happy af so he puts whatever he picked up back. Bouncer comes back pissed the ***** still there. Dude tells him that guy (me) offered him more money. Bouncer starts going off on me, i told him highest bidder. Lol he ended up giving the guy $50. Dude was happy as ****

I haven't gave a homeless person in a while. Last month, I remember this lady with a snotty nose asking me for
$5 so she can buy diapers and telling me her bd is in jail. I just gave her $2.

I went to Waffle House and this homeless guy asked for a meal before I walked in and I obliged.
Guy walked in and ordered like he had the money. Not that he shouldn't have his fill but he didn't even ask if it was okay to get the extras LoL
All the cooks rolled their eyes at him bc he obviously does it on a regular basis.
