I say all that to say this. Even though it seems like it...it's not getting worse it's just with social media we see it more than ever before. I do think the masses are becoming more stupid but the savagery been there and believe it or not is better than it was. But unfortunately unless we have an awakening mentally I don't see humans destructive nature going anywhere, Mass cleansing(if I'm understanding you correctly) is not the answer because that is the ultimate savagery. Nazi's had that plan and well you see where that led.
