Wife keeps asking what I want to do for Father's day. I can only think of activities for my daughter :(

Can't even think of a place to eat at, either.

Man ain't it crazy that as a husband/dad that the last person you think of is yourself? :lol I don't eem want anything anymore lol

Go to your kids favorite place to eat. That's what I'm doing this year :lol

Luckily my kid likes Hibachi.

Luckily my kid likes Hibachi.
My daughter is only 19 months old. I can give some oranges and she'd be set.

We want some good sushi, but VA doesn't really have a lot of great options lol.

My parents are about to railroad my brother into 100K of college debt :{
The school is 25K per year (including room and board) and he didn't qualify for any grants/scholarships.

My advice was to go to CC and bang out 60 credits for the cheap and transfer (and potentially qualify for a scholarship).

I went to college (when it was cheaper), commuted from home (so no room and board fees) and still felt like 30K of debt was a lot.
The experience might have been fun but it certainly wasn't worth the price.

What do I do?

When I told them the numbers of what the debt looked like, they acted like a 20-20 year repayment plan wasn't bad.
Am I bugging tf out or have they lost their minds?

I gotta side with you fam. Actually talking to my sister about choosing a school right now. My wife's loan debt is painful.

Yeah it's bad.

But student debt is so much in the culture of the USA that everybody feels like it's no big deal.

What if he doesn't like the field?

What if he can't find a job?

And this **** never goes away.

100k is no joke :x

My sister graduates 8th grade today

All her friends' parents are divorced single moms

Afterparty gonna be

This is why these things should be taught in school. If I had better guidance I would of taken the CC route or some technical school. School debt scarred me off. That and my procrastination didn't help lol

Facts. I got so many friends struggling with 30-40K debt working 60+ hours.
And not even working in their field.

The likelihood of getting in your field, plus getting a reasonable salary is so low. Imagine 4 or 5 years from now...

It hurts to think about. For selfish reasons, I am worried that 5 or 10 years down the line, this decision will affect some of my financial goals, my parents retirement, and obviously my bros ability to get ahead/tread water. SMH

It's such a scam bro. Thousands of kids are getting admitted and only 60% of them actually graduate college.
Of those 60%, how many actually get well-paying jobs? It's gotta be low...

(Assuming this is how the financial aid works)...

60K added to my parents existing debt.

40K for my bro to begin his life.

What could go wrong.
