the thread about nothing...

How much had he been drinking?
Must have been alot.
Don't really know exactly but I know Jenever was the main alcoholic beverage. Some form of gin I suppose. The liquor can only bear the name Jenever if it is produced here or in the Netherlands.

We have these in all kinds of flavors. Fairly high in alcohol content but due to the flavors masking the alcohol you could chug it down pretty easily. Certainly easier than vodka even if you mix it.
According to my aunt the house was mostly filled with jenever bottles and some vodka. What I do know is that he has been a heavy drinker from early on in my childhood. Early on it was just beer from what I remember, then he started hiding gin in the house and tried to secretly drink it while hiding it from me and my mom. It got a lot worse from that point. It was amongst the main reasons my mom divorced him a good ~7 years ago or so, and I chose to permanently remain with my mom. I still kept some degree of contact in the form of phonecalls or him occasionally visiting when my mom wasn't home. Mostly for financial reasons. The drinking had already been far out of control by the time of the divorce and I think from that point on is where he truly went off the rails.
To my knowledge I never saw him sober in recent years. Not once. You could always tell by the smell of alcohol and peppermints. Presumably always drunk behind the wheel too. Even when I was little I was often in the car while he was drunk driving so it seems likely he'd do so all the time in these more recent years. Thankfully he was very good at driving and he somehow managed to never get a single car accident or DUI ticket. I never really felt like I had to fear for my life when I was little and he was drunk driving with me in the front seat.
I am honestly baffled that he managed to keep his job for so long (30+ years) as a team leader/production worker in a chemical factory of all things. He didn't get fired until the end of 2016 and got a massive severance pay on top of that.

Ive never stepped food into sams but ive been with costco my whole life. I used to do ALL my grocerys there till i smartened up. Most foods would go to waste since its too much.
Yeah, the main thing I buy from Costco is milk and meats.

I won't take this sams club slander. I used to date a girl that went there and she had the best foods to give me

Yup. At least he died in a somewhat peaceful way I suppose since he was in a coma. From what the hospital told us he was relatively well earlier that day he ended up dying but then he suddenly went into a coma. That probably saved him from a lot of suffering in his final day.

they still sell it...

i used to work near a costco... when wed go out to eat, it was clutch man, a hot dog with a drink for $1.50 and a slice a pizza for $2.00 (slices are like 2 1/2 regular slices lol) all for less then $5

It is, man. The price is great and slices are huge.

You can never go wrong with a large pizza (pepperoni, cheese or combo) for $9.99.
