Didn't know about this cause while dating my ex but while watching the video it reminded me of some of the sadder things I saw out there in the Philippines. Not even five minutes away from the airport before leaving in the morning I saw slums just like in this video.

wow, i thank God for this american life, but man i thought dumpster diving was nuts, this is just sad. The philippines has huge problem especially with income disparity.

Fam, I went over there with 400 dollars. Only spent like 100 bucks... Beer is less than a dollar, my ex's friend while we were at the mall had to cash a check, homeboy only made like 80 dollars for two weeks of work. I was able to pay for her family to go to this beach and rent out a hut for 35 bucks. And her dad works in Singapore as an engineer so they have a good living, nothing too crazy cause it's still not much but some **** went down where their bank accounts got stolen. I gave the mom a 20 cause that's a portion of what they needed for rent cause the rent is equivalent to like 350 USD. I came back forever thankful for everything I have and the way I live.

i totally believe, parts of nigeria is like that, but its still somewhat an expensive place to live due to the overinflated naira and crazy amounts of corruption in the political sphere. Makes the quality of life terrible for a lot and great living for just handful.
Props for taking the "MAN" role with your girls family. i not a filipino but i have few friends back in nyc, and they just were FOB, and the put me on their culture. So i know from dealing with them what kind of poverty they came from and had to escape.
