The designs were nicer and the quality was nicer too. Like OG Jordan's were much better than retro's today. Even Frito-Lay products and candy bars tasted better back then.

90s Nikes are the best design wise
Many of those could come out 10 years from now and still be considered futuristic
But the performance of today's sneakers are amazing.
