the thread about nothing...

I can't stand Xmas over the yrs, I'm slowly turning into the grinch.

Me too, slowly but surely. I dislike it mainly because my parents made it awkward and not something to look forward to. Now it's just about getting the nephews some video games, action figures and shoes. Shoot, my birthday is on the 22nd and I still don't get excited for December.

Did not require sharpening and were relatively expensive at the time.

I remember seeing them for the 1st time in 2nd grade. They were Bic made in cream/black color. They looked space age compared to the thick navy blue pencils the teacher handed us, lol.

Just found out a bar I liked closed and I feel a little stunned and kinda sad lol

I haven't gone to that bar as much in recent years, but I did go this summer for a reunion with friends. I'm glad I went now.

There were good memories there.

did they even know you name?

I can't stand the music plus idgaf about the gift giving.

Yep lol

I've always liked christmas.

When I was younger I looked forward to getting gifts but now I look forward to giving them.
I like surprising people too.

So giving gifts to my family And friends AND surprising them is a win win, and I get that too as well as a thanksgiving-ish meal to boot.

We’ve cut down our gifts significantly and it’s not like we were dropping ridiculous amounts before.

Now it’s just about hanging out, watching the nba, eating good food, playing board games, etc.

I hate that my birthday is on December, even though its literally the 2nd day of the month but I always get the combo birthday+christmas present lmao

I hated that as a kid. I was always asking for a gift that somehow everyone used and since mine is a few days from Christmas...I only got that one bday/Xmas together. Meanwhile my bro & sis got their **** separate and they never really shared their toys/gifts with me.

Silly question, but when taking a phone call interview/screener, when the company rep asks "Do you have any questions for me?" what should you be asking? Is it a test or are they just genuinely asking if you have any questions regarding the company/role? I always find himself just asking "How quickly are you looking to move with the position" and always hang up thinking I should have asked more.

Mostly this.
Christmas gifts weren't really a custom in my household and I didn't really ask for them. I do buy my mom a christmas gift every year but other than the secret santa with friends that's about the extent of my gift buying/receiving. It was always more about a special meal and board games etc. like in your case.

Maybe i like Christmas so much because I'm Filipino.
Christmas starts in September in the Philippines

Woke up at 4:45am to get ready to catch a 7:00am flight. Got to the airport then realize it’s delayed to 10:00am. Sigh..

Always find a relevant question to ask. Even better if it links back to something they mentionned.

Whenever i interview someone and they have no question, it low-key feels like they are uninterested.

Halloween is big too right? I was in Laoag a couple of years ago and they had a massive parade for halloween. Felt like the whole city was either watching or participating in the parade :lol
