Parkey is done. They should cut him
He's not getting cut. He's guaranteed 3.5 million next year.

At best, they bring him to camp with another kicker and have a "competition". If the guy making the minimum is as good as Parkay, then maybe you cut Parkay and just commit 4 million to the spot.

I'm surprised award shows (Golden Globes, Oscars, etc.) still have gendered awards. In 2019 you'd think they would have done away with it by now. The Grammys don't have awards for specific gender/sex do they?

Eh I dont see a problem with it since certain roles are still gender specific, plus since men have an advantage with major roles going to them more frequently. How would it look if nothing but guys won awards?

What does gender specific roles have to do with it?

I don't have a problem with it, I'm just surprised is all; especially given today's social landscape.

If that’s the case they should do away with men/women events in the olympics....or genederd sports in general.

Their a roles that normally clean up at award shows (Historical biopics for example) that women would not realistically not be able to play (Like "Vice" for example). That leaves them at a distinct disadvantage in some categories making the playing field uneven

But then there's a physiological basis for the division; there are men's leagues/divisions/etc.
Men and women act in the same movie. That's why I compared them to the Grammys

I see your point. So do you think they will ever do away with gendered acting awards?

Once the playing field for actors and actresses becomes leveled is when I think it should be done but I think we'll see it alot sooner. Problem is theirs a chance we the men could sweep the show which could cause or backlash or the judges will gift an award and people will see it as pandering (Grammy's). I personal dont have an issue because although vastly different I have always respected both genders equally (Actor of the year = Actress of the year to me). Were different as hell and that should be celebrated

I'm happy for winners but an award wont make me view anyone differently, greatness shouldn't be determined by a few people locked in a room

I like seeing when people win awards and are genuinely emotional/shocked.
