the thread about nothing...

First time I'm talking with someone who knows Corridor 7 ^^

I don't know if it's in sales in USA but I even find a way to have Resident Evil 0 Remaster/1 Remaster/2 Remake/3 Remake/4/5/6/7 which mean 8 RE for 64,68 euros.
Which means a little less than the last one
It's using their bundle, you save extra money
So 4/5/6 together, 2 and 3 together (but it means you have to renounce to some costumes for the 2) and 0 & 1 together
I didn't click yet but I feel I got to do it, it's quite rare to see such a good deal
8 games for the price of one...
Steam always have those ridiculous deals from time to time, especially when it comes to nostalgic games.
as far as Corridor 7 is concerned, I'm surprised that not a lot of people knew about it unless they are pc gaming enthusiasts. fps games what brought me and my friends to PC gaming and we played several of them including Dracula, Hexen, Heretic, Dark Forces, etc... I've grown fond of strategy games like X-Com, Master of Orion and classic Syndicate back in the 90s. and found a niche in RTS. dunno if you played the Settlers or otherwise known as Serf City back in the day.
anyways, always love mechs and robots so I loved the MechWarrior series.

combat simulators, among my favorites was X-wing, Tie Fighter, and Wing Commander.
you can only imagine how much money we spent playing those PC games. I'd say we were one of the pioneer hardcore PC gamers.

forgot to mention, for a time, I was into Sim City and The Sims.

No, I didn't play the Settlers, Corridor 7 was my first FPS ever, before Wolfenstein 3D, I think it must have been Corridor 7 then Wolfenstein 3D then Doom. I remember I have never enjoyed Wolfenstein 3D even at the time (in fact didn't retry it since I think), I found colors were awful and didn't match with FPS unlike Corridor 7 or Doom who get great ones...I remember first weapon in Corridor 7 was ridiculous  Corridor 7 was anxiety inducing and I loved that back in the days, it could gave you chills, in a good way...

Hexen is a game I look towards with admiration despite this kind of graphics make my eyes tired if I play it too long...The atmosphere of this game is unique, and this, only playing it first levels...

I think my love for computers started with this era, absolutely not intuitive as a kid  and even as a grown man after all these years of having the luck to use Windows I wouldn't try it again...
I had Ubuntu a few years back, at first you're happy for some reasons but quickly you understand how comfortable it is to have Windows unlike MS DOS, Ubuntu or anything else...
Windows is very intuitive, you don't really need to know a lot about PC...

MS DOS, Game Boy, SNES were the first things to put me in video games (classic of classic but Super Mario Land 1 especially)

Yes, Steam is great for that, I remember purchasing Half-Life games for nothing, not mentionning all free mods with it...

And it's very relaxing of being able to buy something cheap without stress, I mean when it's not material. Because when you're purchasing let's say a pair of sneakers, you got to hurry, so it's quite unhealthy. But as long as it "doesn't exist", you got all your time to make your decision until the announced day they will stop sales...Very cool.

EDIT :

I had a time Sim City intrigued me a lot

EDIT 2 :

I had that red version. 3 of them.

About 10 years ago I think, I found all consoles, but at this time I was with a woman, and I finally get rid of 95 % of the stuff only keeping some NTSC SNES pads I think (I was very glad of this as it meant having 2 EU ones and 2 NTSC ones if my memories are correct). Thinking about it makes me sick, how could I did this, there was a NTSC SNES with the switch button I haven't on my EU one and a MegaDrive with MegaDrive pads

Something similar : a few years ago I had the opportunity of having a lot of PSX games for nothing, but as I didn't have a television at that time I knew I wouldn't be able to play them, so in my mind I was thinking to myself it would be only for stocking to resell them later, which wasn't fair, so I told the person about how she should resell them instead of giving them
But I have no regrets for that one because I would have felt terrible, whereas for the first story I found the SNES and MegaDrive in trash, so no problem with it

I definitely have aged : 65 euros for 8 games and I can't make a decision

Not a fan of nowadays french comedies but this one is about tightwads and I felt concerned as ####

Nothing to do with the conversation but in specific topics you got to post only things which haven't been posted yet and you better have colors in it, so could we just appreciate this simple pair here ?

So beautiful

How Alien: Resurrection get in there??

Jean-Pierre Jeunet is both the director of Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain & Alien 4 (with Ron Perlman both in Alien 4 and in La Cité Des Enfants Perdus)

Let me use this parenthese to make my propaganda for 5 films seen as a teen that never left me ( I was more exigent as a youngster  )

we started off with PC DOS with a X286 computer with those ridiculous single density floppy disks. I was so happy when my dad bought the then recently released x486 DX computers for work. I remember we used to hack a lot of programs, games and even Windows 3.1 to Windows 98 SE. a friend's cousin of mine was a programmer so does my friend who became one eventually. he even made viruses and anti-viruses.
Linux based system is amazing but didn't grow on me due to lack of game support/library for the platform. I can use it for other projects but not gaming. I've tried Ubuntu, Red Hat, Mandrake primarily.

Yes, you name it, Linux is not for video games, I remember only have a very few old school video games running correctly on Ubuntu.
And Linux is for people understanding line codes, if it's the correct term, I remember have to copy paste codes from forums, very boring, while Windows lets your "creativity" explode, you just have to have one question, you search on the Internet, no matter the forum or whatever you would find your answer, and once you know it is not difficult to do what you got to do because it's global, so amount of tutorials for anything, and Windows have been thought for average users, that's why Bill Gates is rich, he thought of normal dudes and computer science became accessible to the great majority, I'm kind of admirative of anyone who has such knowledge AND succeed to share it with a pedagogic point of view, that's where some teachers were awful, they knew their stuff but not how to make this understandable for kids/teens

Let's #### some bricks

Happy new day to you all, mine started with not enough sleep and the urge of finish the day

Kia is discontinuing the stinger after next summer bc no one is buying it. How could they not know that hardly anyone would spend 40k on a Kia. They need a rebranding. New name and all.

The op is so messed up for this thumbnail that I don't even wanna watch it anymore:

It’s been such a great year for me
Costa Rica to Colombia to Cancun to New York back to LA.
This summer has been so chill tho.
I decided to stay in the city and hit the gym and lose this weight I picked up during Covid. Also looking for a new gig since my company leaving to Texas.
Seems like this second half of the year is gonna be more goal oriented.
