the thread about nothing...

Gas in the UK is as expensive as I have ever seen it - just worked it out and regular is $7.80 a gallon. Costco is about $7.40 and last week on the highway I passed one place that was $8.63.

I’m glad I mainly get around by bike but my son is at college a few hours away and each trip is a full tank - which is about $20 more than it used to be.

Other than the cloudy soles, due to aging, whats the flaw?

I consider cloudy soles qualifying as a flaw because they didn't come that way originally.

Wouldn't those be prone to cracking? therealest1 therealest1

I know, right? But GOAT does have a written disclaimer that states certain shoes may not be wearable due to age in the listings. And they elaborate that no refunds will be issued.

All that can be interpreted as buy at your own risk because they're old shoes that can fall apart immediately upon wearing, so you're just assed out if you chose to pay whatever amount of money for them if anything unfavorable happens.

Man that whole shoe looks dusty as hell.

Exaggerating, but it the suede looks dingy, cf yellow too. That being said not too bad. Def still rockable. I had the white/baby blue 18’s, liked them a lot.

They were dusty despite being unworn and in the box the whole time. But there's a brush included, which I never noticed until I took them out recently to take pictures for the GOAT listing. Including a brush was most likely predicated on the suede material having a dust magnet effect.

I was never a fan of the XVIII, or anything past the XIII honestly. I only got those XVIII because it was a package deal with the V back in 2008. I never even wore those V from that package, so the soles ended up yellowing, and now they're listed on GOAT.

Are these unworn?

I think they stopped with the conventional numbers for a while and went by year, Air Jordan 2015, Air Jordan 2016, then went back to the numbers at some point.

Yes, they were unworn.

Correct, the numbered system was discontinued after the XXIII. Jordan Brand went with numbered years for 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. Then they resurrected the numbered system with the XX8.

I wear those taxis more than any jordan

I sold the Taxi XII from that Countdown Pack for a great price recently!

The whole CDP concept was dumb.

Everyone and their momma just wanted the low number retros plus quality were hit and miss.

I was just reminiscing on all this recently!

You were literally forced to take an unwanted package deal with those Countdown Packs because they were never sold individually. Most peeps only liked one shoe, and not the other in most cases. But the XI/XII pack that came out in December 2008 were clearly the most sought after and both pair would be liked/kept with most peeps.

I already felt the package concept was a dumb idea back in 2008 predicated on undesirable pairs you had to take in a pack, and now it's even dumber predicated on realizing in retrospect that the quality on them were bad.

Most peeps who didn't like a pair in a pack either sold it away or traded it away. I recall I only sold the X to a former associate several years ago.

And I actually gave away the other unwanted ones to a former Footaction manager because he did a lot of favors for me. He's the reason why I got the XI/XII pack easily because he let me give him the cash for them shortly before the release date so I could have them reserved without waiting in line, then I just picked them up at his store later on that release day.

I only wore the VII & XIII from those Countdown Packs. And I have the V, VI, and XI listed for sale on GOAT now since I already sold the XII & XVIII on there.

I feel Jordan Brand declined with quality and details when those packs were released in 2008 in retrospect. The XI from that pack was the start of bootleg swap meet looking XI with the low patent leather cut released from 2008 to 2015.

Cant remember if this was a brand or not - I always swore this was a flea market shirt / atleast the one I owned.

There were a lot of knock offs. The real ones had “Warner Bros Inc” and other legal jargon printed right underneath the graphics on the front.

Found this old pic of me from the 6th or 7th grade wearing a legit one. I did also have the knock offs as well.

USPS wasn't messing around with that slower shipping crap. Bought something on ebay. The item is located about 1 hour away from me. Seller shipped it out on Tuesday. For whatever reason, it went to a sort facility 2 hrs away in the opposite direction. Finally arrived to my local post office this afternoon. I should have it by tomorrow.

I had the same happen with a cell phone case from ebay. It took a week to arrive but the sellers location was so close I could’ve picked up the damn thing in a short trip down the freeway 🤣
