the thread about nothing...

Tbh I dont mind a light hearted, borderline goofy debate. I was one of those guys that would sit on the bleachers after hooping and 'agrue' about basketball for 45 minutes. They funniest **** would always come out of those debates. We'd just laugh it off and be like, "Yall wanna run one more?", but I know everyone can't do that.

Could "play arguing" be a cultural thing?

Yeah I get exactly what you mean, but on here folks like to be in a weird spot where they make it their persona, by doing it with every little thing. Gets old after a while

Arguing is definitely a cultural thing— I’ll never forget the shock of playing regular pickup with Haitian dudes. The arguing was next level— hour to hoop, 30 minutes arguing over the score.
It’s slap-boxing.
(No offense to Haitian people! I love all my Caribbean folks! I just don’t like playing ball with them when there’s limited time!)

Been trying to find a new apartment. Everywhere, these mofos wanting $2300+ for a damn one bedroom. These people have lost their damn mind!
Which major metropolitan area do you live in?
Because that is major metro pricing.

Los Angeles, which is about 15-20 miles from where I’m at. That’s just it. My area is just normal neighborhoods. They swear we’re in the heart of a major downtown area or something.
I was born and raised out there, from Pacoima to Fontana.
Since leaving, I've lived in Tennessee, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, and bought a house in Illinois 2.5 years ago.
I assure you: the non-metro areas of the country are DRASTICALLY less expensive than major metro areas (and yes, you're in a major metro area. Damn near all of SoCal is major metro; LA area is just major metro on crack).

My wish for owning a house out here dwindles more by the year man, smh!

20 miles from DOWNTOWN is pretty far dog.
FYI, I come in peace

Also, that’s pretty much going rate on the low end
1 bd rooms in the hood are going for a minimum of $1,800.

I ain’t saying it’s not expensive or right . Just saying that’s the market right now .

My first apartment 2 bedrooms was $650 in 2004. 20 years later that same apartment is $2150 and the neighborhood is absolute trash now. They getting all these lil army dudes around here for all they money.
They want $1075 plus utilities at my last spot. I got the place for $850 plus utilities back in Jan 2020.
