This is maybe 1/10th of what I’m dealing with. Gonna just work on 1 room at a time. Maybe I’ll think about touching his auto shop in a year or 2.

Again, the frustration and hopelessness on my part is that her and her sister want to open every single iota of stuff and sort it into what they wanna keep vs what they want to sell. And this pace would take YEARS. I’m 4 weekends in, at no less than 20 hours per weekend, and we have 2 rooms with floor space. So I’m looking at having to live like this while cleaning and sorting and organizing and trips to the donation centers and haggling with strangers over prices. I’m scared bruh.

Honestly no idea what to do in your case or what kind of legal recourse you could possibly have, though extreme measures are probably not an option due to the person(s) being closely affiliated.

Hoarding requires intense therapy and there's really no good way of forcing someone into therapy.
Depending on the severity, hoarders will always find some type of excuse to hold onto an item no matter how dirty, pointless, broken, small or huge it is.

your best case scenario is really getting it off site…you’re not probably not going to be able convince your ol’ lady et. al., to speed up or toss stuff out without consideration…maybe seeing if make sense to just pay some people/moving company to explicitly & literally box everything up & take it to storage unit(s), it might cost you/y’all but that makes more sense than what y’all got going on now
