Been prepping today for a colonoscopy tomorrow.
What's the opposite of looking forward to something?

Did that recently - it wasn’t bad. They offered me proper pain meds but I did it on the gas and air and it was fine. A couple of times I thought “that doesn’t feel good” but a few puffs on the thing and it all faded away for a few minutes.

The prep isn’t much fun - but it wasn’t as explosive as I expected. Just a sickly drink I had to sip over an hour - at first it didn’t taste bad but after an hour I was fed up.

That cup of tea and cookie after though - fantastic!

And no food the rest of the day!

Yeah, the food part was pretty restrictive. I was barely anything for 24 hours before - the instructions were really similar to yours.

There are different prep things - round here it’s 2 syrupy liquids you dilute in a litre of water. Had to have one at 5pm, then another slowly between 7 and 8. I’ve heard about “the gallon” other places use - that doesn’t sound fun.

Then a couple of hours later things started moving.

I watched on the video and it did a pretty good job - I was pretty shiny on the inside.

Weighed myself before and after and I was disappointed that it was only 4lbs!

It’s kinda wild to me that the world outside of the USA flexes corvettes and mopars even though we see them daily. I guess that’s our exotic auto export to the rest of the world. I would imagine Germans look at chargers, challengers and vettes the way we look at Benzes, bimmers and Porsche.

This is why I find myself just using my credit card more and more. Banks tend to lag on these things. Had a couple of attempted fraud charges on said CC a few months ago. Got the alert, called ‘em up, told them that was not me. 1 charge did go through, they reversed it and credited my card on the spot. Only downside is had to cancel that card. Got the new one fairly quickly.

If it's anything like a few years ago, you have to subscribe to a membership. Obviously it can be cancelled but they make it a pain. My daughter got got on the 3 for 29 pajamas they had a few holidays ago. I think it was like $60 they hit her with for the membership.

another random rant I apologize in advance but dont want to make a separate topic for no reason... so Ive been at my job for a good close to 3 years... my manager is unhappy with my performance and tells me straight up he's letting me go but tries to give me that respect and is open bout it... meaning he had the conversation with me like ya I want you to look for a new job because I am letting you go by 12/1 and will look for your replacement...so ya he's trying to make it look like im doing you a favor by giving you a heads up so please look for a job now....so it sucks and eventually I will find something but been telling my coworkers and the vendors I work with I am leaving.... I am cool with a lot of people so I just wanted to give a heads up so they know where I am at and what happen to me... told them to keep it personal and not tell anyone because all I wanted was to say goodbye... and of course to throw some dirt on my boss for being a jerk lol.... they were shocked of course and asked why but I was like whatever its all good we can keep in touch... and the vendors they were so cool about it and were like give me your resume and I will see what I can do and that was like 4 of them... so hopefully they can hook me up and if not all good I will find something on my own...but long story short I am in the purchasing department and my boss wants me to negotiate every single purchase order.... I work for a indian owned generic pharmaceutical company and they trying to save money at all costs so I guess I didnt do that...a perfect analogy to describe my situation is picture going out to eat at a restuarant with your family and when the bill comes you try to negotiate it to get the best price.... welp thats my company mentality...

just wanted to give a quick update up with whats going on...I will try to keep this short and not too long... so last week my boss calls me in his office and basically heard that I have been telling people that I am being terminated... he is livid and was like why would you do that after 3 years of being with the company and I brought you in with no Pharma experience and this is how you repay me... so long story short 1 of the people I told must have told HR and they found out about it and basically yelled at him for that...the next day they basically put me on a performance improvement plan... welp it can go 2 ways I can either improve my performance and they can keep me or regardless of how I do they will sack me... the latter is the most likely scenario not all the time but majority of the time... been looking for a job the last 2 weeks and had 4 interviews...one last week went well and had a second interview today... this job is actually closer to my house....the commute is basically cut in half... from 40 minutes to 22 minutes..I felt like the interview went well with the hiring manager then when I get home the HR recruiter calls me and asks about my interview and I said I thought it went well... she then offers me the job and tells me the benefits and salary which is more than my current job... she then says I need you to fill out the job application tonight and I will send you the offer letter tomorrow...I tell her ok great I dont need to see the offer letter I accept... she then says I have to take a drug test and physical and grass is not something they test for... but I havent smoked in 3 weeks so I am good regardless... so I told them can I give my 2 week notice at my current job until after the background and drug test is official and she said yes thats cool... I should pass and not worry but just want to cover my end... so now just need to request PTO from my job next week to take the test then I should be good to take it and pass it then give my 2 week notice... its not official yet technically but Im still hyped... I had to have a drink tonight to celebrate... obviously I am not telling people at all because its not official and just told my immediate family... but just happy to have some closure and close this chapter in my life and start a new one... wanted to share the good news here

Congrats pa! Just gotta stay positive and ish always works itself out. I’d be funny if your boss gets put on a PIP or fired after you roll out.

I think the biggest thing I am looking forward to is the exit interview... I would never have the opportunity if I was sacked... but now that I will give that 2 week notice I can air out my grievances which I am willing and able to do.... forget resentment I am looking for retribution and will not hold back on giving my 2 cents... you want to play me by sacking me ok I got some dirt on you and will air it out completely... the first thing that I will tell hr is "if I have to tell you everything wrong with this company I won't be able to spend time with my family"... that should say enough... then will continue to go ham and spill all the beans lol

Congrats IMO the only thing I’d say is don’t be so quick to accept an offer letter that you didn’t even read yet. Gotta read over and make sure everything is legit and also I’ve been told by several people that a company’s 1st offer is never their best offer. You gotta give yourself some room to negotiate even if it’s just a small bump up from the initial offer

Congratulations on new beginnings, G! I’d like to offer you advice and to err on the side of caution with the exit interview. Remember that HR exists more so to protect the company from possible litigation than it does to stick up for non-management employees.
