the thread about nothing...

I live in a small rural town with a population of a whopping 2000 residents so generally not much happens here. There’s no traffic cams, not really any police presence or crime, …

Someone robbed our local convenience store a couple of months ago and stole all the tobacco products but that’s the only thing I can think of in years.

Some people do have security cameras but that idiot in his Toyota only comes here at like 3am and he drives way too fast for the cameras anyway. Dude’s been doing this for like 3 years at this point.

If my town would put even a single traffic cam in my street they’d be swimming in money. Other surrounding towns have at least 1 traffic cam but ours literally doesn’t have a single one even though some of our roads like my street are specifically known for that racing idiot. The speed limit on my street is 90 km/h but I don’t think anyone goes under 100 km/h.
Yeah the flock cameras cut out a lot of petty crimes and fights. Those Flock surveillance signs are scarier than the blue light cameras these days, you already know you’re being watched on flock.

The ones here claim they only track license plates, idk how that makes them any better but either way I don’t believe it.

They be scrapped by crackheads soon enough anyways.

We should probably get some of those
Not necessarily to ward off real ‘crime’ but just for all the idiots doing stupid stuff like racing, drifting, …

The closest thing to real theft we get here is that street signs get stolen a lot. Stop signs, bus stop signs, construction signs, …
Idk how or why but they get stolen a lot
It might as well be a tradition at this point.

It’s lowkey bigger than that, some of these flock systems have facial recognition which is a total invasion of privacy since it’s linked to mugshots so you might be targeted even if you aren’t committing a crime. The main reason they have them around is for street takeovers at intersections that get shut down for folks to do burnouts and wild out. They identify the cars and folks involved and go after them later.
No, no you shouldn’t.
Yeah it’s next level privacy invasion, be careful what you wish for, dudes is going to jail just for hanging out around takeovers especially if you have active warrants.

Unrelated but there was a sahbabii rap video that ended up on a first 48 episode and a bunch of people went to jail for flashing guns as felons. They got picked off like flys after that episode came out on tv and the apartment complex was demolished. Be careful if you’re outside and active these day. The mob and slaughter gang had to go quiet after that and sahbabii had a ticket on his head over it but calls were made to spare him. Delmar apts.

We had a guy like that in my town too but he ended up blowing one of his hands to pieces  He learned his lesson after that.
There’s a dude in my neighborhood who likes to race his Toyota up and down my street at like 3am on some days though. He raced by my bicycle at night once and the wind from speeding past me damn near blew me off the road. Easily 100 mph I assume.
My street is pretty long, not much traffic and there’s no traffic cams in my town so he can basically just go as fast as he wants at night.

One unmarked speed hump will change all that lol.

Literally every town surrounding us has both traffic cams and at least one speed bump somewhere

I really don’t get it. This one particular guy’s been doing this 3am racing **** for multiple years and people constantly complain about it. Earlier this year a guy started doing it on an extremely loud modified quad bike too but at least whoever that is has the decency to not do it at 3am.

Our mayor and town council are kind of notorious for being sleazy crooks but you’d think they’d wanna pocket the mountains of cash they’d get from installing a traffic cam.

Can’t expect much from the cops here either. One local cop literally suggested that I provoke my neighbor into punching me to get him to quit his death threat nonsense even though I have him on an audio recording. Another local cop asked to buy a firearm “under the table” for an unspecified “friend of his” from me immediately after my dad died and then that cop went to my mom to accuse me of arms trafficking after I told him I turned all said guns over to the police because I didn’t have a license.

What happened to the pearl earrings? I think that was the theft 8o

I been loving these rain storms on the east coast right now. We had a long drought down here, this weather reminds me of how it was when I was up north and it would rain from sun up to sundown regularly. Atlanta needed this bad.
