The Walking Dead - Official Thread

The important thing is that she's not on The Walking Dead anymore. Her character was ***. Dying was literally the best thing she ever did.
Terribly written death scene for a character they largely did nothing with until the season they ended up killing her where they had her on a somewhat interesting story arc where she learning from Daryl until they up and just had her disappear only to be brought back in one of the most lame stories told in this genre. Hospital guards/city cops become corrupt, enslave injured ppl, become too controlling, they all mostly die :lol

Sorry b, her being on the show wasn't the problem.

It was terribly written but at least she went out with a bang. Don't know about yall but who saw that coming at that moment

Terribly written death for a terribly written character. Start like you're gonna finish. From beginning to end she was uninteresting and spent the majority of the show just taking up space. Any single time they attempted to develop something around her it sucked.

The show's better off now that she's gone. Same with Tyrese, though he at least was something of a descent into a waste of space, whereas Beth was always like that.

jesus, is that all that happened since then? I stopped watching shortly after beth got kidnapped :rollin

I honestly didn't see it coming earlier but once they showed where she ended up I knew she was going to die because of how the season went. A season that largely didn't have any good antagonists so somebody that was in the main cast had to die before ppl started calling for the deaths of the boring main cast.

I just didn't see the nonsensical let me kill myself angle. It was so bad. Even for that character and it made that entire story arc even worse because of how it ended.

That'd be a terrible outlook to have if this was a good show but it's not so I guess it makes some kind of sense.
From beginning to end she was uninteresting and spent the majority of the show just taking up space.
That goes for most of the characters even the ones that had comic book counterparts.
Any single time they attempted to develop something around her it sucked.
Nah, like I said her rolling with Daryl, learning from him, showing she could fend for herself and on the road to becoming a bad *** in her own right was a good start. Thing is though it's like you said they did nothing with her for seasons. It's like they forgot to kill her back when walkers overran the RV or the farm or some other place. Then it was like well she's still alive so lets start building up this character so we can kill them off in a season where they have to pad for time cuz they've caught up to the comics too quickly and nobody else, even Kirkman, has any good ideas to do a season that isn't mostly taking from the source material.

But I knew it wouldn't last just didn't think it'd end that badly. The shows literally filled with some of the most stagnant characters on tv. It's to the point writers are shook to kill off completely made up characters cuz they have such a fan following despite being void of any real development.
The show's better off now that she's gone. Same with Tyrese, though he at least was something of a descent into a waste of space, whereas Beth was always like that.
Proving my point man. They create **** characters or completely botch using characters the right way and then kill them off and pretend it means something to the story.

I can't wait until Lucille shows up. Kirkman botching Neagan on his own show is going to be awesome. I thought what they did to the Gov. and Tyrese was bad. I know they won't fail to hit a new low there.

It's actually a great show. They just started badly with Beth, so i'm not surprised it ended badly.

Counting every single character that's ever appeared in the show? Yes. Counting only the main characters? No.

The time she spent with Daryl was damn near painful to watch, easily the worst airtime out of every group that was featured after the prison fell.

Naah. Damn near the entire main cast has consistently been well written. Beth and Tyrese are actually exceptions.

We totally disagree here.

I think the show is horrible.

Hasn't been good since the 6 ep S1.

She is not the only one.

I just brought up Kinney to say she's getting other acting gigs. You wanted to make it about how bad her character was.

Beth was not the only bad character on TWD. The show is filled with them. Poorly written or poorly acted.

Yup. I don't see a reason to keep going given how opposite we see the shows.

If you're curious about any of my other opinions of the show and why it's so bad (and why I stopped watching then foolishly gave it a 2nd chance) I've thoroughly posted why in the past in this thread. I'm sure searching my name in the thread would suffice.

Peace.

I like the start of zombie movies/shows, when they're still in the city and all that.

FTWD is cool so far. Actually looking forward to new episodes.

Dang.
I guess you don't like TWD

I myself went from liking the show to not liking it very much. It's the writers' fault. Going to check out the new show when I get a chance.

People still talking bad about Beth the bae angel, SMH. She was the purest light in that world. Plus she probably tasted like honey.

:lol :rollin Never could hold a candle to Maggie though. She's the real bae as far as i'm concerned. :p

The show is entertaining, but not Breaking Bad/Mad Men/The Wire great.

You don't watch the Fast and Furious franchise expecting Oscar type performances, direction and writing.

Same with TWD.

I remember taking film and tv classes in college (electives), thinking they were going to be fun, I came out of there saying "**** man, I work all ******* day I just want to watch a ******* movie/tv show don't want to break it down from conception to finish". It's fun talking about it, some of you take it too serious.

Direction of the show isn't going to change, especially with it's popularity. Formula works, people don't want a fascinating story with attempts at deep character development (boring *** season 2). They want to watch these people swim through chaos.

1. Put current set of characters
2. Introduce challenging situation/antagonist
3. Increase the group size
4. Make people fall in love with one character
5. Walkers/Zombies bonanza
6. Kill 2-3 "important characters" (Rick, Glen, Maggie, Carl, Carol, Daryl are completely off the table)
7. Cliff Hanger ending
8. Ratings!!! $$$$

What would be dope is if this is in the same universe as Marvel Zombies and we start seeing MC characters in TWD and FTWD :hat

Na bro, i think your tinfoil hat is on a lil tight :lol
I would never want such trash to happen :lol

Mess around and ruin the MCU.

I don't think this is an excuse. Especially since I rarely see ppl bother comparing TWD to those clearly better shows.

I was talking from an entertainment standpoint at this stage in the show. It's not. It's just boring. I'd rather watch The Strain than TWD and that show is rife with it's own problems but I know I enjoy watching it more.

Most shows fall in to patterns but I'd say for TWD, the creator has been doing that for years with the comic since it's clear he's ran out of ideas. All of the cool daring stuff that was in line with the realism the comic was lauded for hasn't and probably can't be translated to the show for several reasons, one being the setback of being on AMC.

Great show? Its arguably the worst show on AMC. It has all gone downhill from season 1. Numerous characters have been butchered from Andrea to Tyrese. The character development or lack thereof greatly hinders it from being decent and that's just one of the problems this show has. It is a cash cow so Kirkman won't care to improve the quality.

I thought kirkman's not involved with the show anymore?

Somehow it's popularity is still high as ever. People talk about a show starting to decline in quality and ratings around season 5 & 6. This show will stay popular no matter how bad the writing gets.

For all the people that passionately hate the show or don't enjoy it, why are you all still in here constantly? I don't get it. I don't wear Roshe anymore after all these colors dropped, so I never visit the Roshe thread and I'm not in there constantly saying "these are so wack!"

To each his own. I think The Walking Dead is great overall. Some episodes and seasons are weaker than others, some characters are trash, but there's not a show in existence that can't have those claims made about it. Despite its flaws it been an excellent adaptation and I certainly wouldn't force it to cancellation if I could. The setting, storylines, and characterization has been on point and i'm mostly always excited to see how they'll handle what's coming next.

I'm pretty sure he's still involved or maybe I'm confusing his involvement with Fear.

As for popularity. I can't call it. The same way I don't know why ppl like Big Bang Theory or why NCIS has a dozen spinoffs or why The Bachelor and Big Brother got so many damn seasons or why Burn Notice was on air for so long. Lots of trash shows get love and find an audience. Sometimes the majority of ppl are in to ****. Same way ppl thought the Earth was the center of the universe cuz it sounded good and gave a false sense of importance.

I can't speak for everybody else that hate the show but still post in here but I feel like I've been ghost from here for like over a year :lol

I only posted about Kinney and then got roped in to some Beth talk and disagreement about bad characters on the show.

I'll leave again and let yall have it. I'm not really keen on arguing about this show like I would in other show threads.

I actually don't post in here anymore. I commented on on FTWD which is bad in its own right and TWD. I'm gone.
