The NBA probably needs to settle on a location soon and fly players/staff out in a few weeks if they want to re-start the season by mid-June. Let them self-quarantine for two weeks, then practice another two to three weeks.

I think that would mean scrapping the regular season and maybe just do exhibition games for the top eight seeds of each conference before the playoffs.

Both Jordan and Bron faced the elite of their eras in the finals, both have had historic finals performances and even if you wanted to say bron faced better teams in the finals, IMO it wasn’t by much. You can give him that. 73 win warriors, spurs 3x, I mean you can give him that. 96 Sonics 97 and 98 jazz, 93 suns were really good too though.

Where it gets hard is the low points. No player (to the best of my recollection) has had low points as low as lebron has had in the finals. 2011, 2007 sweep, 2018 sweep, 5 game blowout in 2014, 5 game gentleman sweep in 2017 with Kyrie and K Love,

I mean you can say you don’t want to hold this against bron and add context, but IMO that’s when you get into the category of doing too much. We’re talking about the greatest of all time. There’s a standard that’s clearly established and if you’re claiming bron as the standard you’re CLEARLY omitting ring count, playoff flameouts, finals sweeps, etc and it’s harsh but again we’re talking about THE GREATEST PLAYER OF ALL TIME. Just find myself throwing way too many qualifiers to justify bron as being the greatest when it shouldn’t be necessary if he really was.

Now if you’re talking pound for pound most skilled then that’s another story and IMO bron can box there but he needs a ring in LA and some more longevity that’s the only way he can break into that tier one of greatest of all time.
I'm not putting Bron ahead of MJ, but the idea that adding context is "doing too much" is hilarious.

my point is that we can add context sure, but context is naturally applied to those who follow the game.

we know bron’s teams were outmatched a lot of the time. At least I do. At this point there’s no need to deep dive into that.

and to keep it g real FOR ME (just me)

I don’t even hold the finals losses against bron, because like I said he’s played historically great teams in the finals.

but its hard to call someone the greatest of all time when half the time his team is in the finals they’re getting eviscerated. Like2007, 2014 and 2018 are three of the worst point margins of victory in all time. It wasn’t even close. Can’t happen if you’re the greatest of all time. You can say he wasn’t supposed to win, but then you’d indirectly be alluding to the quality of teams lebron has played in route to the finals in the first place.

Im not a huge Jordan Stan. I would pick LBJ and a few others before Jordan if I were starting a team and trying to build a chip (ducks), but if we’re talking greatest of all time then everything matters including context

I still wonder how many players feel the same way. If you’re on a non-playoff team, do you really want to go into a six week bubble just to play like seven more games to finish the season? I probably wouldn’t.
Some players think of basketball as a job too. Heck if I’m Tyson Chandler why tf would I bother. I’m gonna retire anyway and I don’t get playing time.

It’s kind of insane that the NBA even wants to finish the season instead of going straight to the playoffs. I get the 70 game mark thing for RSNs, but it’s so pointless for the most part (seemingly)

I think a lot of players just wanna play ball. Obviously a lot of guys play just because of the money but some wanna play as much as they possibly can and miss the competition. I’m sure they’d still be down to be around their team and a bunch of their friends on other teams in the middle of the summer in sunny Florida. All the young dudes would love it...would basically be like going away to a two month long summer camp to play ball and chill with their friends all day every day.

Also Magic lost in the first round to a team with a losing record
And lost in the Finals four times with one of those being a sweep by the Sixers lol (he got injured vs Detroit iirc)

If it's Kareem and Russell or guys from black and white film days I would like a detailed breakdown of the level of competition they faced

It is not. Prime Shaq, Bron, KD.

Those are guys I’ve seen so I’m admitting bias. But I’m a vacuum, with all things being equal, I’d take those guys to build a winner around before I’d take Jordan. For different reasons, I think it would be easier to build a winner with their prototypes than Jordan’s.

Fair. For me it's Lebby or Jordan only reasonable options

After that Shaq, Duncan and maybe some others. KD can be included in there too

Shaq I get. KD? Nah. And even with Bron you need 2 other elite players around him (at least that's been the blueprint so far).

If you are going to bring up those Bron years, should we not bring up how Jordan’s teams were getting eviscerated in the mid-late 80s and how he was unable to win without the best wing in the league as his teammate?

Well regarding LeBron, you just hope the GM doesn't do as poor of a job the first 7 years of his career

Gossip? Pushing a narrative?

Buddy...the Sixers have been probably the most interesting team in basketball for the past few years because of all the ridiculousness that’s gone on with our team that nobody has any answers for. And the #1 most interesting thing that was the topic of conversation especially at that time is how our #1 overall pick who was supposed to be the next James Harden forgot how to shoot a basketball immediately after putting on a Sixers uniform. Yes, obviously I’m going to ask a guy about it who saw him in person every single day from the beginning of that. Fultz also wasn’t the only player that I told you dudes **** about.
But Keith Pompey apparently had all the answers and fed it to you of all people

Bruh came back for revenge on Penny & Shaq :lol

I was born in ‘90....and my first real recollection of basketball started around the ‘94 finals (Oj, all that **** etc). I found a notebook recently...where I was learning how to write...and I was writing about my family spending the day watching the 95 playoffs :lol. So it’s documented.

I’ll say by ‘98....I fully understood and was actively rooting for Jordan to lose. He never did.

Mike sweeping Shaq & Penny Upset a 6 year old wavy. I ain’t know what I was watching...but that bald, yellow eyed MF...sweeping cool *** Penny and Kazaam irked me.

Space Jame came out in ‘96 too. I got fond memories of that year.

Penny and Shaq getting swept out the playoffs....3 straight years is kind of a crazy way to go out :lol. They went from 1st round Sweep....to finals Sweep....to ECF sweep. And it was over. Smh
