Context from a local Mavericks article

This season’s training camp 2.0 would start on June 30, so Doncic and Porzingis would not be expected to return from Europe until the second or third week of June.

By the time the season resumes, if it does, on July 31, it will have been four months and 20 days since the season was halted.

For perspective, last offseason — the time between Game 6 of the finals and the start of this season — lasted four months and nine days
.

Van Gundy was dumb to not ride with Rafer in those finals when jameer came back.
Agreed. Game 1 he sat rafer near the end of the 1st qtr. He didn’t come back in until the start of the 3rd. That’s close to an hour of sitting down. If that’s too long in a pickup session to wait to get back on the floor, that’s too long to wait in an NBA game.
They were rolling with rafer and should have kept the same energy — no matter how bad jameer wanted to play. That rhythm with him as gone and the finals wasn’t the time to find it.

What’s an average offseason 4 months?

This is basically like starting the season over.
Right.

This isn't a pause and re-start. This is literally a whole new thing

This is like the the 2019-2020+ Season or something. I'm not building in excuses but a whole offseason, which wasn't even really a off-season because of the shutdown, in-between the last and first games....Weird.

They should allow more players on the roster. Players could be dropping like flies with muscle with no preseason and right into the playoff chase.

Depends on how Miami schedule is looking as well. Need that 4-5 for the culture
2. Toronto (6.5 GB)- Philly, Boston, Denver, Lakers, Mempis, Mempis, Milwaukee, Milwaukee
3. Boston (9.5 GB)- Milwaukee, Washington, Toronto, Brooklyn, Washington, Mempis, Portland, Miami
4. Miami (12 GB)- Milwaukee, Indiana, OKC, Denver, Phoenix, Boston, Indiana, Boston (Not really sure how this game would work since Boston would've already played their 8 by then?)
5. Indiana (14 GB)- Philly, Miami, Phoenix, Orlando, Houston, Sacramento, Clippers, Lakers
6. Philly (14 GB)- Indiana, Washington, Toronto, Phoenix, Portland, Houston, Washington, Orlando

Think it would be tough for Boston to overtake Toronto, but Toronto does have a tough schedule.

Would be pretty shocked if Philly doesn't wind up 4 or 5. Feel like Indiana is a lock for 6.

Tbh Indy is currently only at 5 due to tie breaker. Whoever wins the matchup pretty much should be the higher seed

Miami is still a wild card but now Jimmy and Eagle Dolla getting some rest for them knees
