This whole unwritten "follow back" rule only shows how insecure people have become about their social status. Instead of just being yourself and meeting people you actually care about or are interested in you'd rather have that 1:1 ratio of following to followers to feel cool. You need a number to make yourself feel good... :x
I saw someone retweet some dude named "I follow back". You're really gonna have some random clutter your feed so you can have an extra follower to show the world?? That's as lame as it gets. My generation is so douchey.
I think I have about 50 followers and follow around 70 people including sports, informational stuff, and famous people. I created a twitter to specifically weed out all the nonsense on my Facebook. To tell you the truth I think I only follow like 5 famous people. I couldn't care less what they are doing either. If there's something important that's been said or twitter beef or whatever, I'll wait for something like Niketalk to tell me. I followed Lebron James for 5 days or so then realized I hate his best friend and I don't care what he's wearing to the club post game every night. All 5 I believe are comedians. Twitter is best for information regarding sports or entertainment updates.
Either way if you want to see what time I had Captain Crunch in the morning your gonna need my permission. #teamprivate #mayormaynotfollowback #iguessiwillletyouknowwhattimeihadcaptaincrunchbutidrathernotknowwhenyoudid
