Yeah people with guns aren’t a match for the government.

I don’t understand how anyone doesn’t fear the government though in general. US government is evil af.

BUT people with guns have stood up to the government and won. Remember those ranchers in Texas a couple years back who were about to get their land stolen by the government and they all posted up together and had a stand off with the government?

of course the government could have destroyed them but then it would have been all over the news.

"In some states, you can purchase a gun without going through a background check. That means you can go to a parking lot at Cracker Barrel in Oklahoma and buy an AR15 from someone you met on a gun forum on the internet. In other instances, there is something called the Charleston loophole, named after the tragedy that occured in Charleston, SC where Dylan Roof shot up churchgoers at a Black church. In some states where background checks are required for certain purchases, the purchase automatically goes through if the background check doesn't complete in 3 days."

I wasn't aware of this right here. Wild stuff. Yeah the 2nd Amendment definitely needs to revised, and a revision should be backed and supported at all cost.

Yeah man, it's insane how some suggestions that you think would be common sense are not perceived that way. I am for gun ownership of certain guns but am 100% for stricter laws on how these weapons are obtained.

One of the issues I wrote about in my article that particularly stood out to me was "No Fly, No Buy"

From my article: https://www.unbiasedopinions.net/post/thoughts-and-prayers-how-the-nra-has-congress-on-their-knees

  • No Fly, No Buy - For whatever reason, the NRA strongly opposes this law as do Republicans in Congress. After 9/11, the "No Fly' list was created to make sure terrorists or people who were suspected of terrorism activities were not allowed to fly on planes. However, these people are still allowed to purchases firearms. The shooter of the Pulse Night Club that killed 48 people was on a no fly list but was still able to purchase a gun. Does it make any sense for someone who can't fly on a plane because they're dangerous to still be able to purchase a firearm?

Supporter and owner. Support ownership with proper training and better background checks.

Guns not saving you from the government  personal defense from armed civilians at best.

Do not ever buy a firearm please.
I hope not. I like some of them. But I'd familiarize myself with gun laws.

If I lived in a bad neighborhood, I would definitely get a gun.

I live in a pretty safe area so chances are probably more likely it ends up doing more bad than protecting.
Matters what complexion you are. I feel safer strapped around the homies in the hood compared to out in the sticks strapped where the hatred is stronger

Interesting reading through the thread, good to hear some differing opinions.

I personally am anti-gun, but a lot of that has to do with **** from my childhood and is more so my stance on my involvement with guns not necessarily how I feel about society at large. Somebody pretty much summed up my thoughts on it on the 1st pages saying, just looked back, it was Comparison Ford Comparison Ford speaking on regulation and ownership. Well said.

I'll speak on guns from the position of hunting, where most of my understanding stems from. As someone who has worked in the wilderness/backcountry industry in many different places pretty much since I graduated from college (Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, AZ, California) I have become great friends with some people who, when I was growing up I would have never seen myself being friends with, I mean we align politically and morally on most things but the most drastic one that sticks out to me is gun rights.

I'll speak about 2 of my buddies who both grew up on Ranches in Eastern Montana and northern Wyoming. Their families would make full use of let's say the one bull elk that they got and have it sustain them through the winter in addition to other game as well. They would pack in on these trips, and pack it all out, do all the processing themselves etc. That is something I understand and respect the hell out of.

But I've also spent a good deal of time in the south and seen people just cruise up old backroads, lay salt blocks out (not for management or sustainable practice efforts), sit on their tailgates and essentially mow down deer And they just take them up into the woods to rot. That is utterly disgraceful and pointless to me. Same thing goes for people I know who have assault rifles and just go down to the pits to fire at nothing.

I kinda only feel comfortable speaking on that level of gun use, but a lot of good reading in this thread.

**** I just created a thread that probably won’t get any Attention because this thread exist LOL.

I’m setting here watching this Netflix special that covers the impact of the media on big court trials. Right now they’re talking about a man named Bernie Geotz. Back in ‘84 Geotz, shot 4 black youth on an NYC Train. Geotz claimed self defense from an attempted robbery. whether he was right or wrong, gun laws in NYC permit 99% NYers from carrying. Geotz even claimed he wanted to kill the suspects when interrogated. This show has captivated my attention anD got me thinking as I still watch...

what are the gun laws where you live regarding the right to carry and the ability to use deadly force when your life is threatened ?

what are your thought on this topic and how it benefits or degrades society?

1. what are the gun laws where you live regarding the right to carry and the ability to use deadly force when your life is threatened ?

1. not sure in detail, but nc is a passive state & although they gun stores n stuff, I don't believe I've seen legal guns outside of jakes

2. i think it showcases how our strides towards convenience will more than likely be the direct demise of homo sapiens.

Heres a provoking question; If the ban on concealed carry - is / becomes- the status quo in the USA, Wouldn’t this highlight the uncivilized nature of rural and/or politically conservative communities? Their beliefs in many things including guns , run against the grain of progression in this country. It’s like Their the ones least likely to need guns but have too many of them. They fight to the death for guns and for what?

With all the home invasions and robberies happening around the area we live in, I’ve highly considered purchasing one to protect the home.

but I’m 50/50 about going through and getting one.

Bruh if there are home invasions of all things going on around your area you better go get a gun and protection like yesterday. Imagine if dudes run up in your crib knowing your there and you got nothing to fend them off.
