Thoughts on Purchasing a used PS3

Im currently an Xbox type of guy but im looking for a PS3 so I can use as a home entertainment set (Netflix, Blu Ray, etc).. Are these units reliable where I would be safe purchasing a used set off Amazon or Ebay? Or would I be better off buying brand new so I can get a manufacturer's warranty?

Yea their reliable and go to ebay. If you have a xbox then your getting the PS3 for Blu-Rays because netflix, DVDs, Videos, pictures and all can be done on the Xbox

i got a ps3 slim off of ebay in november for $140 from this one ebay store called techforless or tech4less i forgot. but they were selling like a couple hundred units. so i got in on the deal and ive been using the same ps3 since no problems what so ever.

Xbox has netflix and all that.....if your only gonna be use the ps3 for blu rays just get a cheap blu ray player unless you find a really good deal

Just get a blu ray player for like $70.

Yea only do this if you still plan on using your 360. If you're not gunna play it anymore then yea i will suggest getting a ps3

Sony may be announcing a price drop for the PS3 in 2 more weeks at E3. I would hold out until then so you can get a new one.

I wouldn't suggest going to craigslist. You can't get your money back for any reason.
Get one from Ebay. They have good prices if you search.

To get it even cheaper Contact the seller and offer him lower price paid through Paypal. 

Without going through Ebay you get it for cheaper he gets no fees and you are still covered by Paypal.

wait until after E3 i gave my PS3 away and i want to cop another one just for Metal Gear and Final Fantasy's...

i felt poor using it as a blu ray player for some reason
