Before we continue we need to understand the reason for the use of the flag in the first place and the bringing back the flag as a symbol of white supremacy in response to the civil rights movement. you're wrong, it was the Virginia Confederate Battle flag first, then it represented the entire Confederacy.

When you have generations of people being educated in straight up “lost cause of confederacy” propaganda....and half the country thinking the civil war was over “states rights”....instead of slavery. And the Civil war being framed as Southern states being “rebel’s” against the elite powerful natl govt....instead of seeing them as racist traders who went to war to keep black people enslaved...you’re going to get a lot of misinformation and confusion. The Lost Cause propaganda successfully associated the confederate flag with being “rebellious” in a positive way (word to ole miss). American Culture embraces rebellion.

Many black people in the south knew this was bs...as they lived with it, not being able to say or do anything about it until recently. “Dukes and Hazzards” premiered 10 years after Black people got full rights in America (on paper) . That’s wild.

Man there is deep, deep, deep social conditioning for Dominicans to reject their African blood. (Not giving him an excuse, but it IS true).
