I have a silver 07 C280 with black interior and I finally decided to get tints. Thing is, though, I'm not sure which percent to get. I've heard dark interiors make it harder to see in so should I get 35% or would that be too light? I was think 15 originally but Idk if that would be too dark. Should I maybe do 35 in the front, 15 in the back?

did you check your state tinting limit?
IMO diff tints from front to back look tacky. so id suggest whatev you get, make it consistent.
I have a dark interior and I just got 35 all around.
It's legally too dark, but ive only been pulled over for it once.

Anything under 70 in NY is illegal, but whatever. Is it difficult for people to see into your car or do you get a pretty decent view?

In MD, the only legal shade is 50% but 35% isn't hard to pull off.

Also, 15% tint + dark interior = the police will love +$*+*@$ with you.

Typically, laws allow for darker tints the further back the window is (rear windshield can be darkest, then rear windows dark, front windows lighter than that, and then no tint on windshield). If you abide them, you typically have a pretty decent looking tint consistency (at least in TX). By having the rear windows darker, there is already less light coming in from a majority of the windows so there is only discernibly higher visibility through the front windows from certain angles.

Also, be mindful of how much your visibility looking out will be impaired at night by the darker levels of tint. Having darker tints in the rear don't affect you as much as those of the front windows. On one of my cars, I had "limo"/5% (police read it at 2% when I was pulled over) and on another I had legal tint (35% at the time) + 5% over it because I thought the OG was too light... At night, seeing outside of my windows on both was impossible. All I could see was a slight dot of light from other cars' lights.

Not to derail, but does everybody go with a straight black tint? I had "titanium tint" on one of the cars I mentioned in here and I thought it looked good. The titanium being a dark charcoal-like color tint... kind of gave it a glossier look. I think the green/mirror tints are tacky, but that titanium didn't look like that. Still have no tints on my new car and unsure of what to get but need to do it soon before the heat gets ridiculous.

Not really. Visibility while driving at night with dark-tinted windows is comparable to wearing sunglasses at night.

In Texas the legal limit is 25%
My front windows are at 9%

Mine looks abt the same. You can make out body outlines but you cant really see anything unless youre up on the car looking in. Ive never had an issue seeing out @ night. Didnt even notice a real difference after I got it tinted.

35% legal in MD..but with dark interior you can still see right through it...

Just get 20% dude...you wont get in trouble much, depending on where u live

I have tinted my windows on all of my cars since I could remember. I usually always did 20% living in MD and was pulled over a couple of times but for the most part 20% is usually pretty passable by cops, I've had so many just drive past me and nothing. Now in NJ, I've been a bit bolder and got 5% and no cops have pulled me over and so many have drove past me and next to me. You'll b just fine with 35%

35 will get you out of trouble in ny.

20 will get you pulled over everyday.

20 > 35 though. but 35 is subtle and less headache.

I'm in MD and have 25% on the sides and 20% on the rear window. I have black interior so it gets pretty dark. Backing up is a bit of a pain at night but it's not that bad. I wouldn't go below 20% no matter where I was and even that would be pushing it in some states.

In terms of cops, I think it kinda depends on the type of car you drive too. If you riding around in a Vic or Impala with 15s blasting in the trunk then you are probably going to get pulled over..
