Waddup!
About a year and a half ago I had reconstructive ACL surgery on my left knee. Went pretty smoothly, did the 6-8 physical therapy then got right back into sports. After doing the PT I would said I played basketball atleast 5 times a week and didn't rest my knee much. Completely stopped doing the PT exercises and working out my legs.
Unfortunately about 2 months go I planted my knee pretty hard and felt a weird slip in my knee. Kinda reminded me of the same ACL tear motion but not as severe. I was out for like 2 weeks then got right back into basketball. Played for about another month then had kinda the same injury.
That being said, what do you think it could be? I saw a doctor after the first injury without an MRI the doc thought it was a knee sprain. Are these pretty common after ACL surgeries? These past two bumps in the road kinda got me scared to play ball again and I just wanted to see if others had the same experience.
Also wanted to make this post others to share some tips on how they treat their knee post surgery and what works for them and what doesn't. I know for me after I go running I've been icing my knee afterwards and also making sure to dedicate a good amount of time to stretching. I saw my friend also put tiger balm prior to playing ball on his knee and calves, anyone else heard of doing this?
