10 seasons is very impressive.

Say what you want, being a huge comic book fan as a kid, I really enjoyed all 10 seasons.

Season 9 was a great improvement and this should give the writers enough space to end it right.
Smallville Coming to an End

It looks like the story of the pre-Superman Clark Kent is almost over.

May 19, 2010
Smallville has lasted longer than anyone could have expected – several times it was presumed the show was likely going to end, only for it to be renewed. But as the series heads towards Season 10, star Tom Welling says it's time to wrap up the story of the not-quite-Superman version of Clark Kent.

"Season 10 of Smallville will be the last season," Welling says, in a new interview with HollywoodLife.com. Welling doesn't elaborate, however TVByTheNumbers is now reporting they are hearing from multiple sources that The CW will indeed officially announce Smallville is going into its final season tomorrow at their Upfront presentation.

This is likely a relief for fans who have been worried for years that the producers wouldn't be given adequate warning to head towards a proper ending for the series - Now we know they have all of next season to show how Clark Kent ends up putting on that red cape.

Update: That was fast. Moments after I posted this story, Variety reported that The CW is confirming that Smallville will end next season.

Two days ago, I said "Damn, Smallville is still on?! He isn't flying around the world saving people in a suit, yet?". I guess I jinxed it ...

Not me.  I used to love the show a lot.  But this season has been so bad I stopped watching like 5 or 6 episodes ago.  I thought the writing would get better after the first few seasons but it's gotten worse.  I'm surprised it lasted to 10 seasons.  Clark's character is just too pure and not willing to do what it takes to defeat an enemy and ends up regretting it.  The villains he faces aren't that great and easily forgettable.

I can understand that. But Superman as a character is exactly like that. I like the fact he is one hero who sticks to his morals.

Anyway, I would recommend watching Season 9's finale if you were ever a fan. One of the best episodes in a LONG time.

This has really been the only show I used to follow and stopped watching.

I normally have a bizarre loyalty to shows I begin watching even when they've gone down hill, case in point the Simpsons. But I just fell behind on Smallville a few seasons ago.

Impressed it lasted this long, I'll catch up eventually.

Wifey is not going to be happy, this is her favorite show. As for me, I say thank god.

I liked the little hint they had in the opening scene (dream sequence) of Season 9's season finale episode.

Yeah I caught the season finale and it was really good.I used to keep up with this show like crazy (seasons 1-4),but I just kinda stopped (especially after a few people didn't return/"died" in the show).I'll definitely be tuning in for season X though.

i avidly watch this show. let's see the enemies in the final season

It's actually a good thing it's ending. Many people thought that this season was the last, which will be a bummer because they would have had to tie up all the loose ends in one or two episodes. Now that they have a whole season to work on, it should actually be better. These past few season has actually gotten better. The Lana and Clark thing dragged on for like five season with the same storyline so it's refreshing that they will go into next season with Lois knowing who Clark really is.

I really hope they don't pull some random memory loss BS.

Yeah, I know Superman is supposed to always be a "boyscout" and do the right thing.  I started liking Green Arrow's character more than Clark when he was going through his dark phase.  I was glad when he killed Lex (I think he did, don't really remember) but Clark had to act like a weenie and tell him it was wrong.  I feel like Clark hasn't really developed that much as a character these past few seasons.  I can't explain it, I feel like there should be more depth with his character.

I started watching when it originally aired, then stopped watching after season 2. I started watching it again last season which was ok.
Then I started downloading episodes from this season and it wasn't bad at all, of course the cheesy moments were there and bad production value at times, but the season finale last week was pretty dope. At the beginning of the episode, Clark finally gets the Superman outfit but doesn't put in on though, and it left a nice cliffhanger at the end.

it was bound to end... young clark kent gotta grow up and be superman any time now

one of my fav all time shows

havent watched the recent episodes

i'll just wait for the blu-ray this summer

Been a loyal fan to this show since the beginning. I'm kinda sad it's ending but it's time. 10 seasons is pretty damn good for a cw show, and I'm glad they get a full season knowing it's going to end and not just a few episodes notice.

yeah 10 seasons is crazy, i mean FRIENDS lasted 10 seasons, but I cant help to think that aside it from being based around SUPERMAN, and the CW network sucks, thats why are still getting viewers

but man i remember watching this in middle school, and EVERY girl was beasting on Tom Welling and EVERY guy was beasting on Kristin Kreuk

on the side note, my friend still follows and told me they all skipped college or something, which i found funny

I been watching this show since it came out. Awesome show and hot girls (lana, Tess, Lois).

They kinda dropped the ball with Doomsday though. (

at their "fight" scene)

This pass season has been the best yet though. Zod was pretty evil.

The final season should be pretty crazy. It'll probably end with a cliffhanger though. Probably Lex coming back.

Hopefully Clark finally learns how to fly next season lol.

Maybe they can start a new live action Supeman show.

This season was good, I agree Clark hasn't developed much but I hope next season is just as good if not better.

Been watching this series since season 1

. I just hope they develop Clark in Season X. But, I know that they are going to end it (literally) with him in the suit flying off.~
