Do we place too much emphasis on race in todays society, especially in the goals of helping the lower class? Do programs like affirmative action further perpetuate the idea that race is the problem in society, and not class which in my opinion is the problem with presenting opportunities to those in poverty.

No polies, domestic or foreign are put in place for ever. AA will become phased out sooner than later. However, why is it that when this comes up it is an either/or approach as opposed to including both aspects (race and class)? Both matter unfortunately.
