I pulled the trigger. Even if they sit elsewhere for a long time, I have a hard time seeing the discount be greater than 20% or so. I’ll just lock them in now.

I wouldn't be surprised if they hit $175 or lower... all red kicks without hype is a dub nowadays

Plus with the "2013s are better" and pre-drop slander they were kinda doomed from the start.

Missed out on these in 2013 so had to get a pair this time around.

Copping at $160

Nike jacked up their prices to $220 so they could be a reseller and make $60. They’re just as bad as all the other resellers out there

just a few years ago, $220 was the aftermarket price when retail was $160
Very true. I remember years ago reading an article about them stopping resellers that way. It worked, Nobody is spending $300 with a reseller on these..... especially with being less popular.... now people are waiting for less than retail... Only way NlKE could fight is put out less pairs of GRs.... but nobody is gonna care with a higher retail price.

I had these back in 13 and sold them for some obscene amount of money a year later without having worn them. I did grab a pair yesterday and glad I did just cause I wanted a red IV as a completionist. After Breds I'm done until a FR IV, at which point I think I'm just retiring from IVs. Replacing all the terrible shapes from that era with proper looking IVs really leaves this model feeling damn near done for me.

Maybe the red was a little dull but two rounds of mink oil and these things have a pretty saturated bright red look to them. Only small complaint is that I wish they'd gone NA on the back to differentiate the superior shape.

You got pics of them after the mink oil treatment?

Agreed. The lack of Nike Air on the back is a huge turnoff for me. If they had included it, these would have been perfect for what they are.

They look great in pictures, but when you see them in person, they’re very underwhelming if you owned the originals. It’s like they put in the same half-assed effort into what was supposed to be a GS shoe (trash materials), and then decided “Hey, let’s release them in adult sizes too!”

I’ll eventually cop once we get to that 20-25% discount.

I find it interesting that in Foot Locker advertising, it seems(assuming of course) that they're using OG GS pairs in them.

My OG pair. They won’t last forever, y’all, and I didn't actually wear this pair constantly, either. The stars are pretty intact in some places. The back heel tabs hardened and broke off a couple of years ago. The nubuck turned shiny and started looking and feeling more leathery. One of the wings broke off yesterday. There's a bunch of fraying where the nubuck meets the back heel tab. The grey soles yellowed heavily. Thie white Jumpman on the back turned creamy.

New pairs might be less red, but they have the superior shape and won’t fall apart anytime soon at least.

Mink oil is definitely the route for these. I lost the link to the video I saw, but there is a video floating around of Toro’s after 1 coating of mink oil. Then he held it side by side to the factory shoe.
My guess, about 20% more vivid.
