At my university I need to take Accounting 201 and 202 in order to be admitted into the business school.  I want to take 201 (which is the most basic accounting course offered at my university) this summer at community college.  However, the equivalent course at my local community college requires a pre-requisite.  Am I going to have to take the pre-requisite before the community college will let me take Accounting 201?

I feel like you read it wrong. If its the most basic accounting course there wouldn't be a pre-req. for it.

No, you'll be fine.
I took Chem II at a CC and they didn't ask or make sure that I took the pre-req

Mastamind89-Thanks.
KICKINHEADZ1010-I'm at home and not on campus right now and It's saturday and my advisors aren't open. Plus, I already scheduled my classes for next year around the fact that I don't have to take Accounting 201 in the fall and registration for classes at my school is still open on weekends.

As long as the CC lets you enroll in the course you will be fine. Especially if that's the only credit you want to transfer over to the University.
