True or False...Brendan Todd Haywood is a top 5-10 Center in the NBA right now.

Dude has been playing some good ball for the Wizards. You get a competent coach, delete Etan, and you get nice results from Brendan. The ability has ALWAYSbeen there...but for whatever the reason, Sinbad never gave the guy consistent minutes. He's averaging a double-double, and is playing some incredibledefense in the post. On a Wizards blog, a list was made of centers right now who are better than Haywood.

Perkins, Chandler, Howard, Nene, Hayes, Bogut, Duncan. That's my list ahead of Haywood.

For me, I think that both Jermaine O'Neal and Brook Lopez deserve to be on that list (ahead of Haywood). If you were to rank the centers in the NBA,who's in your top 10? Don't just consider the offensive contributions...take a look at the WHOLE picture and factor in defense as well.

to big Perk as well...

If he's kept Javale McGee on the bench, definitely.

Dwight Howard, Tim Duncan, Andrew Bynum, Chris Kaman, Brook Lopez, Mehmet Okur, Andrew Bogut, Marc Gasol, Jermaine O'Neal, Emeka Okafor are all better.

Kendrick Perkins, Greg Oden and Tyson Chandler are all in the discussion too.

Haywood puts in work. Folks that have nothing to contribute but laughs just simply haven't watched him play and are drones that only give credit to bignames. Great size, hands, rebounder and post defender. Haywood is a solid Center.

Brenda moved up a lot of points when he ripped that dread out of Etan's head. But besidesthat, his game has really improved.

Thank you.

Centers I think are better than Haywood in no order:

Howard
Jefferson
Gasol
Bynum
Camby
Duncan
Bogut
Jermaine
Nene
Lopez
Horford
Oden
Kaman
Shaq
Bargnani
Okafor
Okur
Noah

And Im sure I am forgetting some. Lock this up.

Ok...he's solid...but top 5-10? That's laughable...even as weak as the C position is in the NBA

fresh that there's Two clippers on there. gotta love it

I don't know if I'd put him in the top 5-10 range, but he's a good player. He's similiar to Kendrick Perkins.

He's one of the more underrated free agents on the 2010 market. I'd take him on Miami if we have some change after Riley signs Bosh ...

He wouldn't make my top 10, but he's been playing well and has been real solid so far.

As far as true centers yes I would say hes right there at about 10

But if you throw in those hybrid PF/C like Amare and Duncan then no

DJs, this thread just exposed some ignorant NBA fans. oden? seriously? anyone who listed oden clearly identified themselves as an idiot.

Haywood is a vet who plays excellent D, rebounds like a beast, and has a solid, agressive arsenal around the basket.

i don't know if he's in my top 10 bc i dont feel like counting, but he is certainly in that range. anyone who says otherwise clearly doesnt watchenough bball to have a respectable opinion.
