TV: Cable or satellite?

I had fios at my moms crib but then i moved out and bought a house and direct tv is the best available. When fios comes to my area im getting asap. Get fios if its available to you.

with directv, can't one main household order all the channels, rent a couple of boxes, then pass out the boxes to other households with a satellite and the others will be able to view the same channels the main household has?
