For me, this and The Sopranos are 1A and 1B TV shows of all time.

Meh. The original was lightning in a bottle, right time, right place, it fitted the '90s perfectly. I mean it's cool and all if they want to do it for this generation, I just can't see how they'll re-capture the same magic... some things are better left in the past.

Having said that, I'll check it out for nostalgia.

Just think, in another 20 years time they'll probably be remaking Breaking Bad and The Wire too.

Word is it's not going to be a remake, but a continuation. Considering Lynch and Frost are both on board I think it will be very good.

Yeah, I'll check it out, the original is one of my fave shows of all time... I'm just wary whenever you have such a long gap between projects like this, even if some of the same people are involved.

...just look at Star Wars lol.

But you never know, I may be pleasantly surprised.

    I hear you.

I'm glad its going to be a showtime series. That should give them considerably more artistic latitude compared to a network tv contract.

David Lynch is directing all the episodes this time. He only directed the Pilot and two or three others last time. Also, he won't have the network all over his back this time so expect it to get really out there.

Very happy to hear this as I just finished watching the two seasons.

Lynch/Frost working on this + Showtime should work well.

I'm crying right now. I finally got around to watching the show last Thanksgiving and I have been obsessed with it ever since. I go to sleep to Julee Cruise's "The World Spins" almost every night.

For me, this show had the greatest cast of characters ever assembled. I hope Lynch has something left in the tank because he hasn't done much film lately and Inland Empire was terrible.

I've never seen the show. I guess I should try and find it to watch as an adult, maybe I'll understand it better.

Showtime dropped this apparently. Hopefully, Netflix picks it up. Allegedly they were not down with the show being a 9 hour film. :x

I'm afraid it looks like Lynch won't be directing due to money issues >:

So Showtime let up and gave Lynch the budget he asked for?
