UPDATE: Little Rock police confirm that the body has been identified as Patricia Guardado, and the death is being ruled a Homicide. The cause of death is still pending.  A $1000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in the case.  A tip line has been set up at (501) 580-8706.

Statement by UALR Chancellor Joel E. Anderson:

"Our worst fears have come true. I am shocked and saddened by this news. The hearts of all of us at the university go out to Patricia's family and friends. The investigation continues in the hands of the Little Rock Police Department. University officials are cooperating in the investigation. At this point we do not have information about memorial services. The university is making counselors available for students and employees who are struggling with this tragic event."

The sister-in-law of missing UALR student Patricia Guardado tells KATV that the body found Sunday afternoon in Pulaski County is Guardado's.

She was last seen leaving her home Wednesday morning headed to class.

Little Rock Police have not confirmed it was Guardado's body that was found, but they have scheduled a one o'clock press conference.

I go to school here and It is sad that I am not surprised that this happened. The school is in the Ghetto, the security is awful and they make you park in a shopping center off campus. It really is sad that this happened. I hope they step up their security...
