Unauthorized = FAKE!

I had to school a youngster today. He basically said he has a few UA pairs of Js. I told him unauthorized is a euphemism for fake. I guess cats calling them UAs makes cats feel better about wearing fugazi kicks. What are ya'lls thoughts on UAs?
