Unpopular Opinion(s) Thread

155 applications is OD unless she was automatically submitted for most of them with one app. Hopefully she made it into her top choices.

It's weirder bragging about money you're eligible for as a collective value, but "$6 million in scholarship offers" has a better ring to it than "$8k for the fall semester".

she did it for social media likes. There’s literally zero reason to be applying for 150 schools 😂

Avg application fee is $50. She spent over 7k just for some social media likes

I’d rather be accepted into 1 prestigious university than 150 mid ones (idk which university she got accepted into)

I don’t think there's anything inherently wrong for applying to all of those schools, it's great. It's just the "Look at me!" social media aspect about it that can feel annoying, but good for her either way.

For the most part there is nothing inherently wrong about it. It's just a colossal waste of time, money and resources. Basically any student who got into a top 25 university could do something similar if they chose to apply to 155 schools.

The only part that is inherently wrong (and something she's probably not even thinking about) is that this hurts kids on the wait list. By applying to so many schools (The majority of which she knows that she would never attend), she's clogging up the admissions pipeline for kids who actually want to attend these universities.

Their kids on the wait list who have to wait even longer to get off the waitlist because, for some reason, people like this girl or applying to schools that they no they won't be attending.

I promise I don't want to go back, but sometimes I miss the county jail days.

There was a sense of community I got from it that I don't feel in the free world sometimes.

I could understand why, but that’s an environment that offers nothing but problems. You should build your own community of trusted individuals and a create a sanctuary to build solutions.

That was forced community.

I feel that non-retro Jordans(fusions) will eventually overtake retros being worn on the feet of people.

It's wild how much time people spent obsessing over like 3 transgender athletes, so much so to the country's detriment.
