US Military Question?????????????????????

Why does the US need to hire private military firms like Blackwater, I thought we had the best and most expensive military in the world, why are we hiringprivate soldiers, are we shorthanded or something? If anyone can give me any kind of answer it would be appreciated.

OP go pick up a book about private military's + our government. I'm still reading/putting off reading Blackwater: The Rise of the Worlds Most PowerfulMercenary Army. It's pretty informative, if you look at it from an unbiased stance.

That's because they're mostly made up of ex-swat or retired vets/ trained in special specific operations, kinda like Rangers or SEALS more so than youraverage infantry. They're also usually hired too protect important people rather than doing your usual patrolling. They also don't have to answer up towar crimes because of their immunity which may or may not be a good thing.
