Used IPHONE question

Wats up fam i just bought a used iphone 3g off craigslist and everything works fine. Im already on a family plan with AT&T, so i just put my SIM card from my old phone in to the iphone and nothing works besides calling and texting.... I cant get in the app store or use any of the apps already on the phone like stock,weather, map, or itunes.....

Im not sure about how to get all that stuff to work......Not to smart when it comes to all that stuff

Can anyone tell me how to go about doing this?? Any tips welcomed
