@mugen81
i talked to my normal carrier today and she said that if the package was picked up by a carrier and not scanned intiially, the tracking wont be updated till it reaches the destination sorting center or something. True or no?
Yes and no.
She is right that it should update at the destination plant/sort.
But we have new scanners that are "supposed" to keep up with the likes of FedEx and Ups.
Were she is wrong is that even though he didn't do a pick up scan, the next scan should have happened with outgoing mail/first distribution center.
If the carrier had did it right:
Label created
Packaged Picked Up
Next scan would have been at intial distribution
Another Scan at the delivery hub
A local scan at that post office
And last scan will be for when the package leaves for delivery.
The thing is right now, even though it's 2-day priority, mail is being held at certain plants due to consolidating and running different routes. It's a big cluster duck right now.
I've had personal packages from Bodega that were 2-day priority re routed and took three days.
A lot of missed scans are happening due to the fact that Amazon is basically keeping us afloat which in essence is stupid and shortsighted because they are talking about opening their own distribution and delivery service. So basically we are cutting our nose to spite our face and hurting our customers in the manor you are going through. Plus you probably gave your package to a CCA and they over work the duck out of them to the point a lot of them don't care or, sorry to tell you this, they end up stealing or throwing mail away.
It's just a sad situation all around not only at USPS but I know a couple of UPS Drivers and they are going through some of the same damn things.
