IN WAKE OF THAT CONTAMINATED MEAT THREAD. I'm interested in exploring a vegetarian/vegan diet.I was wondering can we get some recipes and a guide oh how to ease into this lifestyle.Hopefully we can get Method Man to do one of his amazing write ups and some links to past threads.

Been on a vegetarian diet since the beginning of school.

My advice: Stockpile recipes before deciding either way. I kinda just did it on impulse and was stuck eating cheese pizzas and simple stuff for a while before I started actually exploring options. And even if you decide not to go through with it, you'll have some new things to try out in the kitchen.

Going vegetarian can be hard...because most beginning vegetarians forget that they need to incorporate the whole spectrum of vitamins, minerals and protein that they might be losing out on. Most of all it's usually just iron deficiencies which can cause someone to be anemic.

For me...I cut out all red meat, I never ate beef or pork but now I cut out lamb as well. I stick to eggs, chicken and turkey.

My preferred food is Chickpeas with onions and raw cane sugar. It's a staple of my diet. Among that also look into getting a steamer for vegetables.

i'm a vegan and i've done some cooking shows... i'm not a chef or anything but cooking is more of a hobby

if you just want to eat vegetarian you can substitute the dairy-free items with the real stuff i.e. cheese, milk, butter

http://http://Vegan Southwestern Style Chili
http://Vegan Homemade Bagels, Bagel Chips, and Spinach Artichoke Dip
http://Homemade BBQ Sauce and a Vegan Pull Pork Sandwich

the actual names of the food on the show were created without using words like pork, beef, chicken so that's why they might sound kind of weird

i've done some other shows... if you need recipes hit me up or if you have any requests i'm trying to make some more shows as well

Tacos:
-Hard Taco Shells or Flour Tortillas (found in any grocery store)
-Tomatoes
-Lettuce
-"Mexican" Cheese
-Morningstar Fake Ground Beef
-Red Onion
-Cayenne Pepper, Chili Powder, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Salt
-Sriracha
-Olive Oil

-Take out the fake ground beef and let it sit for about 30 minutes to thaw a little out
-Turn your stove on to medium and put a pan on it, or a little bit below depending on the strength of your stove, then put a little bit of Olive Oil in the pan
-While the pan is heating up dice the red onions and tomatoes and lettuce
-When the pan is up to the desired temp. put the fake beef in the pan to cook it
-As the beef gets close to being done (maybe 4 minutes in) add the spices
-Often times the spices will look to be sticking to the pan rather than the beef, this isn't an issue. Take your pan to the sink and put a little bit of water in it so that the spices will stew with the beef (the water will cook off in maybe 15 seconds)
-When the water is evaporated add the Sriracha hot sauce
-Let the beef cook for another minute or two and take a fork and try it to see if it's seasoned properly and cooked all the way through
-While the beef is cooking you should also have another pan on low-medium heat. win this pan put your tortillas on it for maybe 20 seconds to warm them
-Assemble and eat
