Was MJ an average athlete??

Pdx Clyde was the ****! Damb MJ. Every time those 2 faced off, it was nice. If he had a pippen like sidekick, things might have been different.

Man....Late 80's Clyde was just :hat This shows you how stacked the NBA was back then...

Clyde Drexler
1988-89 - 78 G, 27.2 PPG, 7.9 RPG, 5.8 APG, 2.7 STL, .496 FG, .799 FT, 23.6 PER - Drexler didn't make any ALL-NBA team.
80s was the best era of basketball for the nba ever. That year Clyde was behind
1st team forwards Barkley(26ppg 13rpg 4apg), Malone(29ppg 11rpg 3apg)
2nd team Tom Chambers(26ppg 8rpg 2apg) Chris Mullin(27ppg 6rpg 5apg)
3rd team Nique(26ppg 7rpg 3apg) Terry Cummings(23ppg 8rpg 2apg)
Loaded man :smokin :Nthat
Clyde got snubbed tho.

Larry Bird was NBA All First team 9 consecutive seasons in the 80s. Starting his rookie year in 79-80 through 87-88 every year. :Nthat :Nthat

In those 9 straight seasons starting his rookie year where he turned one of the worst teams in the league into a playoff team. Look it up. Without Mchale, Parish, and DJ too. In those 9 seasons he took his team to the Finails 5 times. 4 times in a row. Won 3 rings. Losing two just to Magic and Kareem's stacked showtime Lakers(easily arguably the greatest team ever along with those 80s championship Celtics teams.

Are YALL sure you were there to watch Penny in his prime. I was. And I remember. Dude didn't have all those commercials and endorsements for nothing. Penny was a bad dude man. Especially that year he went to the finals. Penny's ceiling was through the roof before he got hurt.

When people start spouting about MJ this and MJ that, and MJ would shut Lebron down, Kobe down, and blah blah blah, I always reference Penny Hardaway. I ask them did they see MJ try to guard Penny? Did they see Pippen try to guard Penny? Neither one of them could. Before the injuries, Penny was a monster in the making.

Top 5?!? Bird was great but I can't give him top 5.
Bird is without question top 5. Arguably top 3. Before injuries

What's sad is how early a lot of these old time studs retired. Combine the fact that most stayed in college 3-4 years and it was really a short time.

Larry Bird played a little over 12 NBA seasons and retired at 35
Kevin McHale played 13 NBA seasons and retired at 35
George Gervin played 14 pro seasons and retired at 34
Bob Cousy played 13 NBA seasons and retired at 34
Walt Frazier played a little over 12 NBA seasons and retired at 34
Isiah Thomas played 13 NBA seasons and retired at 33
James Worthy played 12 NBA seasons and retired at 33
Pete Maravich played 10 NBA seasons and retired at 33
Willis Reed played 10 NBA seasons and retired at 31
Magic Johnson played 12 NBA seasons and retired at 31 (before his second short comeback)

To put this more in perspective Kobe Bryant is in his 19th season and Kevin Garnett in his 20th.

Shows how little the shoe actually matters. Nike doesn't want you to know that :lol

Retro J's shouldn't be played in just like those shouldn't be played in :lol
sure do see alot of AJ retro 11s, and 13s out there in the NBA. Lotta AJ 8s, 9s, 11, and 13s out there in the NCAA. I prob wouldn't play in them every night. But id rock some recent AJ 11s, 12s, and 13s on the court. If I was playing. I'd prob be playin mostly in the Kobe 9 elite highs if I was playing today tho. Great basketball shoe IMO.
